Has anyone ever used a stable version of vue?

I have tried 2 different versions across 2 different systems and the ratio of crashes and errors to normal use is about 60/40 in favour of crashes.

Just want to know if anyone at all has any  luck with it. The only person I can imagine would be a professional studio with dedicated machines for it. Perhaps I'm being naive in thinking it's for home use?
