Timeswimmer here...Using Poser since 2005...currently have 8 and use it in conjunction with 7. Thinking to make the step up. Currently doing mostly single image work on Graphic Novels (up at Graphicly.com) Wondering your experience with both and which you would recommend and why. Thanks for the imput...hborre posted Wed, 11 January 2012 at 1:54 PM
From the way you describe your usage, you would be better off with P9. It would fall more in line with what you are already using and you would get added advantage of using better IDL rendering and using weightmapped figures. On the other hand, if you are interested in developing rigging skills and using gamma correction in your renders for more realism, then PP2012 would be much more suitable.

Another factor could be the hardware you are running Poser on as 2012 can run in 64bit and therefore address much more memory. However if you only have around 2-4gig of memory or your renders time are alright then the 64bit is no real advantage.
I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 - Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU . The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.
