Subject: Lamp Light!

Ok so i have a scene where its a bedroom and the only light in the scene is coming from a lamp. i have 2 point lights in the lamp. Noow i just dont like how the lighting is turning out, doesen't look "real" to me. I have not been good using lighting in poser pro 2012.

 

can anyone give me some good dial stats to use for these 2 lights.

 

here is what they are currently. bolth of the lights have the same settings!

Drop your Shadow min bias lower, I usually use 0.1 to start.  And uncheck ambient occlusion for your point light if you are using IDL.  If I were using IBL, then I would use AO.  Change the attenuation at the bottom of properties to Inverse Square.  That will make it behave more light realistic lighting.  Please do show us a screencap or render of your scene.

Also, change attenuation from constant to inverse square. (Bagginsbill told me that!)

Unless these are "point" lights (i.e. tiny LED lights) your shadow blur radius needs to be increased. It's hard to say what is the right value, but for a light bulb I'd use (guessing no time to check) 2 or more.

Inverse square will matter a lot.

Do not use AO with point lights, ever, regardless of IDL, IBL, etc.

For bulbs, try a little less blue. For CFL, more green.
