I am one of the people who can not afford to spend 500 or so to play  so when I saw Poser Pro 10 from a store that was sealed and completely legal I bought it.  I went to get the required updates and they are not letting me download them with my legal numbers.  It is sunday so I will call them Monday but hoped you all might have the answer to getting the downloads.  In the mean  time I am playing with it with out the downloads and it has a tendency to crash with out the downloads.  Can anyone tell what I might be doing wrong.  I use copy and past to load the numbers

Sounds like you were sold a bootleg copy. Contact SM and they will help you sort it out.

You did register the software first, right?

Also, be careful when entering the serial number when you register; make sure that l and o aren't 1 and 0.

As far as crashing goes, make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card....

I just picked up Pro 2010 from Amazon and also had the problem. I registered the software, created an account with smith-Micro and then was able to get my serial number to work with the download section. It is not specifically clear with directions, but that may work.

I've registered...

Made an account...

Log in, and go to get teh updates and I still get "Invalid serial number"

I don't get it, how can the serial number be valid for registering, but not for updating?

Make sure you are gettign the update for the right PP version...

If all else fails, file a support ticket; they usually respond quickly...

I agree with wandw. When I got poser 8 there was no problem with the sn for registration but had problems with it for DLs. Started a ticket and they fixed it for me. IIRC there was talk that a group of SN got left off the "valid for update list"

And so I loaded Poaser today to work on a model, got the message "yo, there are updates to this version, you want them?"

So I said, yeah whatever why not try again...

Entered serial, and it told me I had to login, so I did, it took me directly to the shopping cart and download was successful.

All I can think is it took Smith Micro avout 2-1/2 weeks to process my registration...:::Shrugs:::

I dunno.

Thanks everyone.

"yo, there are updates to this version, you want them?"

Really?  Poser really has that message now?

Cool. ;)

I registered my Poser 9 back in September and have had problems with the registration code ever since. I've done 3 support emails and each time they temporarily fixed the problem only to have it reappear whenever I access my cart to download an update. Poser support needs to fix the product registration area. Whenever I access the Poser personalize area it tells me my serial number provided by Poser support is invalid. Lame company. Lousy product. It certainly does not pay to buy an early upgrade.
