im following a tutorial made with VUE 8.5 AND IM USING VUE 9.5  question is how do i add layers in the advanced editor for my terrain since the layers tab has been remove in VUE 9.5?

I am assuming you are talking about adding a Material Layer?  I am not sure what you mean by "the layers tab has been removed in VUE" 9.5" - it's still there.  Just click on the icon shown in this screen shot:

 

I think he might be referring to the terrain editor. If that is the case, you need to look at the bottom of the "paint" tab. below the "materials" box are three icons. The middle one allows you to load a new material and adds one layer.
