what is the purpose of the Photoshop Bridge in DS4 Advanced & Pro?

What does it do; just allow you to open an image in PS immediately after you render it?

What is a "BRIDGE?" if you know what it is  then you know what it is and does!!

So was I right in that 2nd line of my message or is it something else?

I would kind of like the ability to retouch Vicky with Photoshop tools of some of those little scabs & scrapes, like that small cut on her upper left hand or a few on both legs once & for all before I ever make the main renders. Getting tired of having to do that each time after the fact. Would like to be able to retouch the Master file so I won't have to retouch later countless times.

I'm not 100% sure as I can't use it (only have CS2), but I think it allows you to work on your textures on the mesh in PS and transfer it back to DS for testing.
