The program is called RealFlow. Found this on YouTube. I like it. I've seen stuff like this done in Blender, but not to this degree of realizm. Enjoy:

And all for just $3,600 bucks ;).
I think I may need to win the lottery...lol.

Yeah, I saw that after I posted this. I don't need to win the lottery, I need to find a rich "uncle" or something... I wonder if Bill Gates would adopt me?

Sahara made a few static Flashdance type 'splash' props, and IIRC, they were made with RF. It would be nice if Dozer had a fluid dynamics plugin.

I think a couple of them were in the freebies section. I recalled installing them when I was using Poser 8. Don't have them any longer, and I don't think I could find a use for them now.
I put the link up here because I thought the video was really cool, and I'd seen where someone did some animations like this in Blender. It was waving ocean type stuff, but still a cool thing to learn how to do.

RF looked 'relatively' understandable, at least the basics but I haven't looked at it since I think version 3, years ago. I found a link to the very basics of fluid sim in Blender.

Yeah, it's overpriced. Maybe if it came down about a grand or three I'd consider it. Of course the video isn't rendered in RF. And there is a lot of real video footage mixed in. I think for what we do, Blender is probably enough. After all... how many of us work for Pixar? No really, who works for Pixar? I need a job, even in the mailroom!

The fluid simulation library used in Blender is open source. Maybe someone will adapt it for Poser / DS or better yet create a free RF like application :-)

^ Nice, thanks for that sourceforge link. I never thought to look there for Blender stuff.

Did I read that correctly? Fluid simulation is already a part of Blender, right? I have Blender 2.61, but I am still trying to figure it out...

Yes indeedy. I made that with Blender's fluid sim (and rendered with Cycles) ;). I followed a tutorial by Andrew Price at Blender Guru.

That's really cool Laurie! I want to learn how to animate that kind of stuff. I am hoping I will find some real time to start learning Blender. Of course, I already explained my problem with learning... a bit at a time, but something going on all the time in my head.
