comics artist and designer Moebius has passed away after a long illiness.
he worked with marvel comics, on the movies Alien, Tron, The Abyss and The Fifth Element and featured a lot in the magazine Heavy Metal.

I've heard about him when he was linked to being the original creator of Heavy Metal.

Superb, very influential artist. He was also a major contributor to the French "Metal Hurlant", which was the main inspiration for Heavy Metal magazine.

Gone... I think not. His legend lives on in his works that inspired generations of artists that followed his lead and also in the dreams of the minds he influences with his work. Moibus achievements will still be influencing generations to come.
Something to aspire torwards - after all its a just a ride, ride, ride ....on Heavy Metal!

Ack! Misread an thought you were referring to the "mobius" who was a modeler, texture artist, and early posting member here (or PFO) from back in '99!
