I'm using poser pro 2012, and i notice that i have some high loading times when i try to create a new character. How long should michael 4 take to load into a scene? It takes an average of about 30 secs for me. Is this normal or is it time for me to upgrade my hard drive? Note that my runtime is about 16 gigs, could that also be a factor?

Edit I loaded michael 4 again to a new scene this time, and it took around 20 seconds. Is it normal for him to take 20-30 seconds to load? I tried to loading in michael 3, and he took only around 12 seconds to load (understandable since the model is a lot simpler)
What are your guys load times for michael 4 in poser? I need to see if it's time to upgrade my hd or defrag it.

20-30 sec seems reasonable to me, i havent timed it but i think its similar on my w7/64bt 10gb ram 6 processor AMD machine, makes a diff what you have running in the background also, you can see small gains just by limiting the number of update programs that load at startup, such as divX update, realplayer ..etc... my workstation never connects to the internet so i dont even have an antivirus or networking running all services are cut to a minimum and i get lightning fast response, antivirus alone can be a resourse hog, i think the antivirus people think we buy new computers just to run their software , we dont have anything more important to do with them....lol
:o)
Y'all have a great day.

Ahh, ok, thanks for the info =) I also don't have an antivirus running for the reasons you stated. If i need to check a file i just fire up malewarebytes or trendmicro. It's nice to know i don't need to get a new harddrive right now, considering prices are still crazy after the flooding.

It's the same with V4.2, the EXP system DAZ used means the .cr2's don't have any morph channels in them, just the rig and a pile of 'readscript' lines, the delay is down to it having to read over 1000 files (depending on how many DAZ morph packs you have installed) to build the channels.
