I have inserted a tie from the poser library and for some reason i want to remove a part of it and create a prop with the remaining part.So i went to group editor. However i have some difficulties .Number one i CANNOT choose the whole part that i desire by once. And number two.Because of the reason number one i try to choose the desired part, part by part. However when i choose a part the previous that is already chosen deactivates.I m not a professional in poser especially in group editor but i have made succesful works on it in the past.So this problem is really weird. Can you help?
Thanks

I am not sure what kind of problem you have
What you need to do depends on what there is.
If I take the example of the suit tie from James, it is a single prop with a single material
If you want to take things out and make a new prop you have to do the following:
Create a New group
Select the vertices you want to take out
Invert the selection
Create Prop
That's it. Now you have a new prop with the name you gave it with the original material in tact. Now you can delete the original and - if needed - make the new prop a parented prop again
Adding vertices is with the + button, removing vertices from the selection is the - button. Move out or in and rotate as needed to make the right selection

Thank you my friend for your help. However what you told me i ve already known and done this succesfully with some other objects in the past.I don t know why i can t do this now with the tie object. To be more specific it s about michael 3 tie.

Which tie specifically - maybe I have it and can take a look if there is anything special about it. I use the group editor all the time and I have no clue what type of problem you have

This tie was in a clothe pack for michael 3.It had more clothes like shoes shirts, trousers etc.I installed it in poser 2010 and now i can find it to figures menu.I tried to work with group editor with some other clothes of this pack and i had the same issue so i was thinking maybe that s the reason, that is naybe group editor can t be compatible with objects that appear in the figure menu but only with those in the prop menu. What do you think?

Ok, now I understand.
No, you can't do that with figures consisting of multiple bodyparts.
Depending on what you want there are several options.
- you can export the entire figure as an object and reimport it. Then you can use the group editor to create new props. But you have to re-rig the figure to make it conforming again
you can create new material zones in all bodyparts (give them all the same name and assign the same material names to it) and then use the material room to make those parts invisible.
you can find a tie prop and work with that (using it as a dynamic cloth if needed)
