first u need an unzipper (extractor) like winrar..u can download a free version from the web...then once its installede, go to the folder where the zipped file is, rightclick on it, then select 'extract here' , or direct it to the desired folder path (ur 'DAZ4/Studio/content')...if u use 'extract here', then u'll need to copy/paste the files into their designated destinations...lmk if u need more info

You can also open the winzip like on your desktop and load everything in the folder manually which gives you a good idea where everything goes and how your paths are set up in DAZ. When Daz does the search it willfind all new stuff you have loaded.

hi every one
since the release of studio 4pro for free my library files became a mess and installing new content from zip files makes it even messier many of the new files are showing but does not have any iconic figures
buying stuff from daz alway,s come with installer but all other provider have zipped file . installing stuff in poser 2010 is easyer using content button and press unzip and it will install the file in the proper location or in the downloaded files to be moved later .i wish i can find a proper solution i have found that renderosity have a better pro centent

''many of the new files are showing but does not have any iconic figures''...this means they've been installed to the wrong path, far as i know... what path r u installing them to ?
(example ; Program files/DAZ 3d/DAZ4/Studio/content'.,,or documents/'DAZ4/Studio/content',,etc)

For Daz 4 your path should end in" my library"
RHaseltine posted Thu, 19 April 2012 at 8:22 AM
My Library is the default, so if the user hasn't changed it it will be right, but there's nothing special about the name.
bluart posted Thu, 19 April 2012 at 10:30 AM
documents and settings/jacques/daz3d/studio4/my library/content
MaryHines posted Thu, 19 April 2012 at 12:13 PM
here's my DAZ4 content path : My Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/My Library,
but u can try this : go to 'edit/prefs/content library/content directory manager or, on the top right corner of the content panel, click on the little arrow tab, then select 'search hd for files or scan known directories
RHaseltine posted Thu, 19 April 2012 at 2:13 PM
documents and settings/jacques/daz3d/studio4/my library/content is almost certainly wrong, it's the DS3 default name nested inside the DS4 default name. Most likely you don't need the Content folder there, and should copy the contents out and paste them into the My Library folder - but check the settings for content paths in Edit>Preferences>Content Library>Content Directory Manager. I don't recommend using the search function, it's too likely to grab folders it shouldn't - especially if there are installation issues already.
