is this one of those muse slumps ?
all i did was rearrange library folders the last couple nights.
80gbs of content and i couldn't imagine up a scene.
these slumps are temporary, right?

That can be quite a task.

sounds like your muse went on vacation for a while she will be back soon and you will have plenty of ideas to render

I've been working on vehicles (Jeep & El Camino) lately, and currently installing security camera cables and fixing things around the house.
Now that you mention it -the dearth of rendering ideas, that is- for a year or so most of my computer time has been spent modeling. About the only rendering I've been doing is material test renders.

All I seem to do these days is make or convert models. I have plenty of ideas for pictures but I'd rather hand draw/paint them for now. TBH, I'm heartily sick of my system and software's shortcomings. Once I upgrade it'll be a different matter but at the moment, the length of time per render for less than optimal results is what kills the enjoyment for me.
So, if anyone wants to buy me a new, kickass computer and Poser 2012 as a belated birthday present, please don't let me stop you. :)

When I get into a slump, I try making things, following a tutorial. You'd be surprised
--1) how easy it is to actually make stuff when you have a good tutorial and
--2) how quickly the muse comes back from coffee break, all fired up with new ideas.
I make things in Blender because
--1) it's free,
--2) there's a lot of really cool things you can do with it,
--3) it's powerful - be careful you don't get seduced to the "Dark Side", i.e., "Blenderised"
--4) the stuff you make will work in Poser and
--5) it's amazingly still free.
I might have already mentioned that last one.

Ta very much, mate. BTW, there are more Daleks on the way soon. A slew of Mechmaster's from Second Empire, which will probably include a revised Mk 6 and a revised Dalek1-V1. After that, I'm going to finish a few of my own designs and get them in Freestuff asap.

Definitely slumps are temporary. Though my other hobby, Flight simming, hasn't been touched in a while.
I'm having fun using my creations now that I'm working on for an upcoming product in a various settings for the promo images. Makes it enjoyable, though I'm afraid to put a preview in the Gallery. Don't want people to get the idea, LOL.

Awesome, cheers SamTherapy... I've still got a render idea in the works for the existing daleks ;-)
I decided I will spend some time over this weekend trying to create some spherical panoramas in Vue, to work in the BB environment sphere... if anything works out okay, it might be something to post in my freestuff section...

Mine is in about 3 weeks as well.
I haven't rendered anything in over a week. Little League Baseball season and Scouts have been big time sinks, and I need to set up a laptop for my littlest one, who wil be spending the Summer at her Grandparents' 3000 miles away.
Oh, and I also put a new motor in my lawn mower, and had to vacuum out my internet computer because my video card was overheating..
