I installed Poser Pro 2012 when it first came out. I run it on an i7 computer with a Nvidia FX3800 and 24 gigs of ram. When i first installed it (64bit) it was running on Vista Business. I never had a problem. Sometimes it took a while to go back to preview after a render, but the serevice pack 2 took care of that.
Recently I had to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional to upgrade my video editing program. I had to do a clean install of Windows. After the install, I installed all my programs. Everything (Avid, Vue, AfterEffects, Photoshop, Illustrator) works fine - except Poser. For the first time since I began using Poser (Poser 7) I'm having nothing but trouble. I hangs up every two minutes. I get a white screen, or a washed-out screen and everything freezes. Going between preview and reneder is a major undertaking. If it will even do it, it takes five minutes. Usually it causes the application to fail.
I just tried to render a PNG amimation sequence - something I do almost everyday without any problems. Now a few frames may render, then I get this message:
The instruction at 0x407c3e referenced memory at 0x000001a0 memory could not be written.
I tried it with and without the service pack 2.1 and it makes no difference. My always dependable Poser has failed me for the first time. It is basically impossible to work with the program in its current state. I've done dozens of animated cartoons with Poser and now I can't even get more than five frames to render. I'm renedering in Firefly with the same settings I've always used.
