The forums are still down, so I thought I'd start a temporary love letter to the visual style shaders here.

I purchased those shaders -  my problem is the eyes - how to you apply them to the eyes?

WoolyLoach posted Fri, 18 May 2012 at 8:58 AM

Wow, nice work! I'm going to have to buy those now!

Braintickler posted Fri, 18 May 2012 at 8:59 AM

I have "Animeyes" also. But I think you can add colors manuel to "Iris" "Sclera" and "Pupil" too....

Droppingin posted Fri, 18 May 2012 at 9:51 AM

Serious question from noob: what is a shader?

Thank you.

I didn't finish this in time to post in the thread at Daz, so I'll post it here, it uses Destiny Gardens Toon hair shaders as well as the Visual shaders.

Shaders tell the render engine how the light interacts with the surface also, more advanced shaders can add things like curves which are like ribbons (think of hair and fur).

There are some amazing things that can be done using shadermixer, helps if you have a maths background so you can understand what the bricks do better but it can be fun to just play in there sometimes. (If I can do it anyone can...my maths is minimal.)

IIRC these were created using shadermixer...

edited to add...just love the renders. When I get some cash I must get these...

This was just a quickie, I wanted to see how the shaders worked on Apollo max.  I was getting some artifacts in rendering (not sure if it would have happened with Apollo regardless of the shaders), so I converted him to subD and things came out much more smoothly.

I think so, because you can change all color sets to your liking in the surface tab. There are no limits. Only outline is hard to get...

SickenlySweete posted Sun, 20 May 2012 at 12:05 PM

question do you use regular render or the toon render settings?

guess i may just have to try out both...lol

thanks for the reply.

There's a small selection of "noir" shaders included that sound more similar to what you're looking for.
