I am trying to create water puddles ona flat floor. Does anyone have any tips on how to create these models? Thanks

Create a polyline outline in the vertex modeler and use Construction->Organic

The manual and the in-program error message are wrong about the Organic tool for recent versions of Carrara. It now doesn't work on polylines anymore but on single polygons.

Water color is a result of transparancy, reflection and refraction. Create a flat plane slightly above your floor. UV map. Paint a map for your puddle and create an alpha mask. In the puddle area you can add transparancy, reflection and refraction along with bump to get the look of water.
