Hi all!

I was looking through my e-mails from last week and found a newsletter about the new Genesis Supersuit!  This product looks really cool and has lots of potentional for renders/addons/etc.  So, I thought it might be fun to go ahead and get a topic on it started.

So, I hoping to start this thread as a place to share:

Also, if you are having problems with the Supersuit, please feel free to post to see if others are having the same problems or can offer help in solving them.  This does not mean issues with the DAZ 3D website (i.e., ordering, downloading, etc) but the Supersuit itself ;)

Looking forward to seeing and hearing more about this item as I have yet to purchase it!

Happy Renderings,
~Kitty

I am just getting "Supersuit". Is a real piece of work with over 300 material zones.

At least they make it possible to select groups when starting to texture.
The basic suit has a number of material zones with the same diffuse color, so you can select those and apply a shader.

So far I have not come across any poke thru problems, even in extreme poses.

I have a render in gallery here, you can take a look if you like.

thats a cool render of the suit Medzinatar would like to see a full diff/spec/bump/disp/norm type texture done and rendered for this suit would make the decision if i get it or not easier for me

Medzinatar posted Mon, 28 May 2012 at 10:10 PM

There are some presets that do with geometry what you might use displacement map for.

In this one there is some bump and diffuse to give feeling of knit mesh.  The rest is mostly diffuse color with procedural specular and reflection.

TheHalfdragon posted Tue, 29 May 2012 at 1:44 AM

cool you do know you can make your bumps and displacements less mahority with using normals maps didn't you? i have a few testures that have normals maps lately that i can set bump to about like 20 % and displacement to about 50% in daz and it looks like they are set to about 75% or more?

Well, I like the Suit - it's fantastic! Right now I am beginning to explore it's possibilities...

It renders amazing...:

I designed all the characters, most of the presets & shaders and put it all together.

So.... if I can answer any questions, please let me know.

Cool images,Medzinatar & Sedor!

I posted images over at Daz but I'll try to post a few here, too.

Thank you for all the amazing work on this you did - this is one of the coolest, and definitely most versatile outfits EVER, and all the characters, shaders and preset are just incredible!!

Hey Randy!  You did a phenominal job!!!

I think I have purchased all the character full body suits over the years... but this is the first I have ever used.  I'm totally serious.  I never rendered with any of the others.

I've had some problems with the "All Seams In" preset for the Supersuit. It looks fine for medium distance shots, but the hands/gloves don't appear right in closer shots.

If I apply the preset the skin shows on the hand and finger finger areas.
I tried hiding the fingers to see what happens, as shown in last picture.
The preset appears to be fully body, so seams can't be adjusted by area.

Of course, it's entirely possible that it's my system thats doing this.  I've had things in the past that work fine for everyone but me.

well that is how it was designed, unfortunately.  You can try this fun trick... Use two suits. Hide the hands on one and the rest on the other... Works great. There're are a lot of really fun things you can do with two suits.

Here's one I did using 2 suits like Randy says. One was the shirt and socks, one the pants & belt

Sometimes I use up to FOUR suits. Sometimes when I don't have a kind of article of clothing I want like a shirt, pants, and other do able items, I make the illusion of them with multiple layers of surface shading bodysuits. I've been doing that since Gen 3. 😄

Daz supersuit, I think the shaders for this product are superb.

There is no quality to my images because of this boards permissions.....the original are HQ 3000px.  Sorry for this but "rules is rules".

I agree with Kylumi the shaders that come with the suit are so worth having.

This is with one of my favorite presets from the scifi pack.

boudicca36 posted Wed, 11 July 2012 at 8:03 PM

I agree too. Beautiful suit ... also got some of the add-on packs ... LOVE the shaders!!!
