Subject: Poser Pro 2010 internet requirements

hello

I am a novice user of Poser 7.

I am thinking of upgrading to Poser Pro 2010.

I am really confused with regard to the internet requirements for this program.

I do have internet at home but travel a lot and wish to use Poser in places where internet may not be available.

My questions are

  1. Do you need the internet to install Poser Pro 2010

  2. Once installed can I use the program without being connected to the internet.

Many thanks in advance for any clarification.

if you have an install disc for PP2010, you won't need internet access.

a boxed copy will come with its serial number.

however, if it is a download, you will only need internet access to download and install, plus an email for the serial to be sent to( if it is a purchase from a licenced reseller, the serial will/should be in your account with them)

Poser does not need internet access to run.  :))

It does use some of Internet Explorer's components to enable different parts of the program to communicate with each other: this has nothing to do with the internet.

CSpear means: internet components (I hope).

You don't need Internet Explorer per se. And while running Poser, you don't need the connection itself except when you want to get something meaningful out of the Content tab, which is a direct Internet window to the Content Paradise website.

Usually I'm wrong. But to be effective and efficient, I don't need to be correct or accurate.

visit www.aRtBeeWeb.nl (works) or Missing Manuals (tutorials & reviews) - both need an update though

If you saw some requirement that you should give Poser permission (from your firewall) for network access, this is to allow the Poser executable to communicate with its content library, which is a separate executable.  These two programs only need local network access to each other;  they do not need wide area network (internet) access.

I frequently used PP2010 (and later PP2012) on my laptop at the firehouse, which often has no internet service.
