I'm eagerly waiting, but the thread over poserplace has been dead for weeks, I asked the status over there and still no reply.
Anyone here knows anything? last time I checked M4 was given to beta testers, so it would be a shame to leave such a project hanging.

to the best of my knowledge Phantom got shanghaied by another project. I'm honestly not sure if he is intending to return to m4 WM or not

WE can only hope that SM employed him to make a figure or rig one. Well I that is pure speculation and wishful thinking. I only know what you know ie that poserplace has been dead for weeks.

I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!

Mike is currently busy with other projects; . My guess is that the delay involves rigging improvements and conforming clothes, but that's speculation on my part...

silence...probably means Phantom went to work at Apple
Bet a dollar two ninety-eight, he got hijacked by the evil Stith Micro to make some new WM characters for them :thumbupboth:

If the character comes with an Asian Face morph, you could say Phantom was Shanghai'd...:woot: ( I happen to be near Shanghai, China at the momment)
If this is true, I hope it gets SM's full backing and they push the content creators with incentives to create content for these characters, otherwise they will just fade away. Early in the G2 series days they created and sold some decent stuff for those characters.

I beg to differ on one point. They need to chuck the current Poser characters and make new ones ;)

They are reworking the G2 figures? Oh shit...I really wish they wouldn't. I'll keep a healthy amount of skepticism if that's ok with everyone ;). While not as homely as the current Poser figures, they have issues of their own. If they don't update the meshes no amount of morphing is gonna help them. I'm really rather disappointed. If they want to perpetuate their own program in light of a competitve product, they're gonna need to HIRE someone that KNOWS what they're doing and have them make new ones. Competitve to V4 and M4 at the very least.

The G2 meshes would need major reworking in order to be competitive. Maybe there's some sort of licensing issue that prevents them from reworking the mesh.
And Koji looks more Native American than Asian, IMO.

I'd suggest you read Coop's posts in that thread again. While he indeed did say there were plans to weightmap all the CP figures, he said something else far more interesting too.... :)

Yeah, I saw that. Still reserving judgement ;). For all I know it's Mike's Brad/Can't remember the name figure (and I don't know). As much as I like Mike, I like Shane's figure better ;).
I guess you could say that SM's figure offerings for me have been...disappointing? I liked Miki 1 the best, except for her horrible joints. I like Miki 2 as well, but her face is a bit different than Miki 1. I must say in SM's defense that the first two Miki's have the most realistic bodies I've ever seen. Miki 3 is ok, but I didn't like her enough to buy her and another wardrobe. And with those Mikis there were no male figures of the same type. Or children. SM's figure releases have been soft at best.
Don't get me wrong: I use old figures all the time. But I don't wanna rebuy what amounts to the same figure twice. I did that with Mike 2 and Vicky 2 and I'm not gonna do it again, weightmapped or not...lol.

Up-guning the existing figures AND creating new ones seems like a good idea IF they are working on both and can get the reworks out sooner than the new ones i.e. a stopgap. I'd definitely make the reworks free though. I still see leading off with a male figure of either type is going to lead to an inevitable 'We're gonna need a bigger boat' moment without the comic relief and no guarantee of a second reel to retrieve the situation.

Quite happy to have some options there... and hopefully there'll be plenty new peripheral content inspired by them too in due course...
...of course M4WM still arriving in time would also be very nice too...
...and is Miki4 not still imminent???

i would pay like - a hundred bucks than to start making hands, etc, from scratch
even if the license said the updated figure could only be sold at cp
