Hello,
Here's a first of a bunch of tutorials that Dan Ritchie (creator of Project Dogwaffle) is making as he's exploring Blender. The focus of this tute is to create a rough surface like for meteors or galactic popcorn that will eventually (tutorial #2) be animated to tumble or spin and render into an image sequence, hopefully with alpha masking so the meteor is opaque against transparent background. That way we can ultimately use the image sequence as a custom animated brush in Project Dogwaffle (or other paint and compositing tools).
