It's in the Poser 9 Thread, but since it may be lost to some, figured I would mae a thread/post:
Sidegrade 40% off Sale for $149.99
Total = $214.98
(...that's like %57 off Poser Pro 2012, where the sale for Poser Pro 2012 direct is $299.99, which is only %40 off)
I have not tried it, but it's 2 seperate purchases (not like stacking coupons), so not sure why it would not work?

A sale is a sale I would think. I don't see why it wouldn't work either. Is there only a sale on one thing? Or all the versions? I would think you'd be able to do it. If it were a brick and mortar store you could.

It does not. Only 32 bit, which sucks. SM needs to suck it up now and make them both 64 bit capable. Get with the times ;).

That's not cool...

Wow that sucks...lol. Thank you Laurie :-). Might still get it anyways and then upgrade later on to Pro 2012. THank you again and take care.

May be better to get PoserPro 2010 from Amazon...it's 64 bit.
That would make a cheaper upgrade later, as well. Something to consider.
islandgurl31 posted Fri, 15 June 2012 at 3:38 PM
Have not thought about it that way. What is the difference between sidegrade and upgrade? If I get Poser Pro 2010 can I sidegrade to 2012? Kinda confused sidegrade upgrade thing...lol. Thank you and take care :-).

An upgrade would be from Poser Pro 2010 to Poser Pro 2012 for example. A sidegrade would be from Poser 9 to Poser Pro 2012.

Cool. Thank you Laurie for the explaination :-). Now to figure out which one I want more 2010 or Poser 9....lol. Thank you again and take care.

This link should help:
http://poser.smithmicro.com/poser9-poserpro2012/index.html?/#compare
Biggest downside to 2010 is no support for Weight Mapped characters...like WM v4, etc.
Well...SSS and more as well, LOL!
Actually, IMO, a sidegrade from P9 should be cheaper, cause you get less features and reason to upgrade....but it does not work that way.
islandgurl31 posted Fri, 15 June 2012 at 4:14 PM
I think I might just go with Poser 9 as I like the SSS...lol. The only thing I was really wanting is the 64 bit...sigh. Might still get 2010 also as I have a lot of Gen4 Stuff still that I have not used yet :-). Thank You 3doutlaw and laurie again for all the fantastic info.

Last I checked, the sale on P9 was for the digital copy only - if you wanted the box shipped, that was still full price, as were any up/side grades.
islandgurl31 posted Fri, 15 June 2012 at 6:18 PM
I don't mind the digital copy as I can back it up to an external or burn to DVD as a Backup :-).Thank you for that info as I did not know that. Take care and have great day/nite :-).

Greetings!!
I currently have the original Poser Pro, I saw on the website the digital upgrade to Poser Pro 2012 is $119. Can I upgrade from PP to PP2012, or do I need PP2010 to be able to properly upgrade?
Thanks,
Andy =]
LaurieA posted Tue, 19 June 2012 at 10:05 PM
jarhead...SM are pretty good about the upgrade paths. It might be a little more than from PP 2010 to 12, but I do think there is an upgrade from PoserPro to PoserPro 2012. Shoot em an email if you have a question :).

If I have P7, what is the upgrade price for Poser Pro 2012?
Thanks in advance
imagination304 posted Thu, 21 June 2012 at 10:28 AM
149.99
3doutlaw posted Thu, 21 June 2012 at 10:44 AM
Which is slightly aggravating, since someone can get P7 at a real discount at this point can spend as much for 2012 as someone who has been buying P7/P8/P9 upgrades...
Seems like a P9 to P2012 sidegrade wouldn't cost as much, due to the amount of features you are getting, versus a P7 user.
Like a "Go Pro!" sidegrade sale
P7 -> 2012 = $149.99
P8 -> 2012 = $129.99
P9 -> 2012 = $109.99
(I think I complained about this already somewhere, LOL!)
...but for those who can take advantage...get P7 for like $45 at Amazon, then sidegrade for $150 and save even more!
