how many projects you got going?
may i pour you a cup of Joe? skillet heating up, pancakes or flapjacks for the morning tumbly rumblies? ala mode? ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate chips for those flapjacks!
spent the last 5 weeks studying dreamweaver, is time to spend a whoOOole day in poser.
the goal- complete a project or two. complito, finito, smack it onto a page somewhere.
need a random generator algorythm to decide what to do first.

funhouse (mirror maze), inspired by other thread. Maze was quick 'n' easy; the extruded text signage is taking time. The neon signage will have internally hidden IDL emitters (so the IDL will work in P8 or later) and glowing fade-away aura. The neon materials will be animated, so that the letters light up in chaser sequence. Argh. Photobucket is still not uploading; I'll attach a Silo screenshot...

my dawgie is after a pancake, ramping up the begging cute even Vooldermort couldn't ignore. but buttermilk prolly isn't good for doggy digestion. he's like a statue, drool seepage, - i guess it's not too early to bake him up a lil meatloaf.

Sounds like a well loved pup. :) I'm going to spend the morning attempting to model an idea I had for hair, then maybe renders later. Bacon and coffee are going now.. it's going to be omlettes here.
I also have a digital camera now and I want to go out sometime this weekend to try it out for textures.
My cat keeps sitting RIGHT in front of my monitor though. I think it's a conspiracy.

Oh yes, my kitty is a real Diva.. he thinks my wacom tablet is his kitty bed. Keep in mind I have a sizable L shaped desk, but his spots of choice are still directly in front of me. I mean, I might miss his 13 pound fluffy self if he sat in another spot on the desk and that just wouldn't do. :D
I now have a skullcap done using the base bust in Silo and deleting out the uneeded geometry and moving points around.

1.1 Quit getting mad that every female toon since Posette seems not to have newbie friendly dials for anything related to breast size/shape that does not also adjust her whole shoulder area, then study tutorials and learn how to use morps and magnets instead.
1.2 While in Group Editor, figure out how to see the surface of a toon that does not have black lines on charcoal skin other than by using wireframe or cartoon settings. Lights and materials are irrelevent - the toon is black on not-quite-black unless depth is switched off, then they are black on lighter - oops - now the toon is too far into the fog and I cannot see the small polygons anymore. Never happen in P5 and always happens in P7.
1.3 Once hair patches can be made using the grouping tool, practice growing hair.
1.4 Once tired of body paining "clothes" on everything using the grouping tool, practice making actual clothes.
Waddayamean, I aint to Step 2 yet?

Well, my Saturday turned into an Odessey. We went to Walmart to get batteries for my camera, and were going to head downtown for a hour or so of taking photos. The car wouldn't start so a 2.5 mile trek home in shoes that really were not made for that sort of walking to get my car.. then jumpstarting the other car.. a trek to autozone for a new battery.
But.. it wasn't all bad. I got taken out for awesome barbeque ribs after. Yum.
Now back to work!

i haven't accomplished any projects yet. well, i did finally learn how to make flyout menus in dreamweaver, - but the poser front is still a canvas in chaos.
i need a whole week to devote to poser. :) a/c cranking cool air, martini in non-mouse hand.

MistyLara: If you're delving into Dreamweaver and want powerful extensions (menus, image handling and all sorts of other goodies), look up Project Seven. I use their stuff frequently, and their support is absolutely top notch.
Have got a crazy long render going so wasting time on the forums and waiting.

thanks! i have a few chapters to go in the dreamweaver bible. it says you can drag and drop layers to trigger events. and timelines to fly layers around. if it's possible to randomize those, like the random banners. maybe a couple of active rss feeds.

hitting 96F today, passed coffee - pina colada weather 
recipe:
in pitcher add:
15 oz cream of coconut - found only canned version at supermarket 
15 0z pineapple juice - not canned 
7 oz Bacardi light - only 7 oz seems underwhelming but worried won't remember poser
and shake shake shake - couple more shakes
oh, wishing for a snowcone maker. snowcone pina coladas 
Poser and Wings for the next 3 days. or 2 days, i'd like to give blender a try for a day.
play with refraction.
and what does the texture_coordinate options actually do, uv, vu, etc.
and gonna try to figure out how dense i'd have to make Samson's face to achieve decent facial expressions.
and more study of .obj file internal workings.
and package up something to submit to the store.
and absolutely no dreamweaver this weekend. i can't get shadowboxes and flymenus to work on the same page, it's either/or. so silly. what about iframes - must push the dw away for 3 days

Later today:
1 Mow two lawns before it rains all weekend.
2 Make lots of tea.
3 Log into Poser 7 and try using a model other than Posette instead of just looking at them, especially since most were purchased and not included with the program.
4 Make generic pose sets for my project and then select which ones go with which character rather than wasting time trying to figure out what I want each character to do.
5 Make a whip prop that can be a basic whip and can also be illuminated to look like a wand with a whip effect instead of making multiple props to do the same thing.
That will probably take most of my play time today.

Oh, Lara, I'm jealous, I took today off because tomorrow is my birthday. I'm a temp at my job, so not much vaca time. The pina coladas sound so good.
I'm working on an outfit, lots of box modeling for it, pants, shirt, jacket.. and I want to do boots. I'm using Fungazi's tutorials to help. :)
I want to do some renders too.. it's also GW2 beta weekend! So many choices.

Ryan2 and Alyson2 are the same mesh?
can a wall of refraction make everything behind it look gaussian blurred for a depth of field trick?
does strand hair have enough max verts for a doo like Daryll Hannah in Splash?
would wmv4's helper bones work for m4?

I don't think the V4WM bones will work on M4, that's why they were making them for Michael, but the project seems to have been delayed for a bit.

For a static shot, I would just use the Conforming Hair included in P5 and use lighting / water effects to adjust the image and not the hair. :) Anything else, though, it would need to be strands. No idea what to suggest for that.
I have seen some "underwater" renders and some "behind-the-fishtank" ones in the Gallery here - maybe ask the artists if you come across something?

Spent the last 10 weeks taking a course on character design by a guy from Dreamworks so that I can improve my design techniques. I currently have 10 characters in the pipeline to make for Poser. A character I worked on should be announced soon and of the 10 I'm now working on, I'm on number 4. I'm also working on a comic book in what little spare time I have and trying my best to develop something called a, "life", whatever that is.

This week's goal: Do something instead of just planning it.
Example: Dungeon walls / forest paths like the old computer games have where the camera is the character's perspective and the walls taper into the distance one or two panels at a time.

triple shot of espresso to get started today. 11:am.
a couple hours of sims petz today,
then a poser all nighter of playing with settings and effects.
asides from bounces. minshader, what else can increase render quality?
and what can softness settings do?
and try to recreate my sim's house in poser. there's a nice house near the top of the waterfall and a nice house near the bottom. i can see the waterfall in the distance from standing near the lake at the sims pets park.

They let us go early today at work because our East Coast offices are in Norfolk, VA. They are all home to weather this thing out. Uhhh, no pun intended.
But, in keeping this thread on track, I started on version 2,000,000,000.02 of my cowl for Green Lightning. I got the rest of his costume done, but that part keeps giving me trouble.
I intend to keep at it until I get something workable today. Got a 2 liter of Pepsi and 3 beers left from a six pack to get me through. Oh, and the other half of a pizza I ordered last night and couldn't finish (that's where the other 3 beers went).

didn't realize, it's been almost 30-days since my last render.
back at the helm today. thinking of trying a whip cream bikini. if i can make the shader moist looking. dewey looking skin.
first puts a percolater pot of coffee on. and sprinkles cinnamon, is a brr-brr day outside.
in between, waits for bread dough to rise a bit more. my first ever loaf of bread made from scratch. unbromated unbleached flour, gluten free yeast.
no idea what gluten? but, the new sexi at the organic market is gluten-free?

Had the hard drive wiped last week for what turned out to be a problem with the monitor, so needed to (re)install Poser w/e. Bought P9 on sale, then downloaded it and all other DAZ and Renderosity purchases ever made that were not shipped on disc.
Still need to install everything, then the discs, then see what is what and where it went. I know I can point the library at a runtime, but I will need to look for them if some random product tries to make its own.
Then I get to learn the fundamental differences between P7 (which I never really learned) and P9. I might even put clothes on the girls this year instead of just body painting them. :)

Ok, I'm game. I probably drink about 5 pots of coffee a day so... Check.
1_ Ev3 custom morph and texture set (from scratch, but starting to think I might have to use some mr to ease up and speed along) for V4 (with easy posed antennae as parented figures).
2_ Lilitu custom morph and texture set (as above) with "goat of the Sabbath" smart prop pubic hair and some other character specific props.
3_Primorge's Brobdingnagian Morphing Plant Pack, with ant hill set piece and some utility non-human figures (twigs, leaves, etc).
4_Penile crawler creature (reminiscent of some of Davo's nasties but not quite as elaborate), figure, probably put it at renderotica I guess when it's done.
...and some other percolating odds and ends. Kind of all over but that's how I have fun. Figure if I concentrate on those top 4 a little at a time, switching back and forth when I get too bored, they'll eventually get finished. Beginning to develop a keen interest in trying may hand at rigging insects also. Spending a lot of time looking at Noggin's, Anton kisiel's, and Ancestorsrelic's work in the set-up room. Great stuff, and not as difficult as thought at first. Now, if I could just become independantly wealthy so I didn't have to do the 40 hr work week thing, sigh.

played in sculptris but not happy with "pig beast" had a small fit and closed it.

None of those will be meant to look like Alan Alda.

I need to discipline myself to spend more quality time with ZBrush. Seems like this'd be a good project to force myself to do this...
...still I need more time. I need a time machine, as well as the independent wealth... getting on average 4 or 5 hours sleep a night at the moment, as is. So any amount of coffee is good... ;)

Roxie does look very nice I reckon...
I've been holding off with delving too far into making character morphs until this pair came along... ever since I got the hint they were in the pipeline... wanted to see how they panned out. With the Pixar subd optimisation there, and GoZ compatibility (I presume!) I think they're going to have been worth the wait.
As I understand it there is some form of skin merchant resource accompanying them... I think? Hope so, that'd be a big boost to them... be great, I think, for what I'm planning to do with them.
Yeah... those chocolate coffee beans are good. You can just eat them... no need to percolate :)

Today is a day of rigging for me. My Halo armor for Miki 4... which has been renamed Battle Armor to avoid problems.
I am also working on a very accurate/detailed costume to convert Ryan 2 with the bodybuilder morph set at 1.000 to Space Ghost.
But if I want to get anything done, I gotta get off the interwebs...

watched the first 3 Troopers movies, Troop2(whisky tango foxtrot)
but then i watched marvel avengers. five days in a row, last viewing with subtitiles so i wouldn't miss any dialog.

big project day.
4th day in a row without a candy bar. acute craving. ahhhh
eat lots of vitamin A.
write a new chapter 1, less exposition-ie
tweak power pixie, less toonish while preserving the cute
biguana or eastern dragon. either choice needs wings. biguana has a saddle. ed has pretty jewel skins
start over rendering chapter foofs and cover. self imposed deadline Aug 31 2013.
hoping pp12 doesn't give any conniption fits,
dyn hair is throttle, but pretty.
especially after BB taught us rainbow hair :b_drool:

Morning: Daily walk of 3.3 miles, clean living room, guest bath, kitchen, and dining so Mom can survive a brief visit.
Afternoon: Move 2-piece China cabinet from current owner to my house (hence Mom's visit - she knows the current owner and is helping with the move), then mow parent's lawn.
Evening: Put back everything I really did not toss and giggle/grumble. Work on text documents for omni-project.

I just want to get something done today.
I have a bunch of projects well into production, but nothing finished.
I am going to have to learn how to not reveal what I am working on unless I see it all the way through. There are a few things I let slip and now people are waiting on them. I am silly.
And the hotel coffee ain't half bad, if you brew it with bottled water instead of that horrid liquid coming from the bathroom tap...
If I had a nickle for ever time a woman told me to get lost, I could buy Manhattan.

took the plunge and bought M5. wondering if it's possible to put m4's rig into m5 to make him work natively in poser. would have to merge m5's extra abdomen. don't know yet what other extra body groups he haz. hmm hmm hmmmm

what's doing today?
i'm cleaning, baking. i really should learn to cook an entree meal to go with the desserts.
angel cupcakes with custard filling. and um salad.
i haven't backed up my runtimes in a while. it takes hours. i usually zip em first, the zip process takes hours on it's own. they make flash drives in 128gb now. it might be faster than a spinning usb hard drive. afraid though. flashdrives have failed on me. the blueray data disks hold 25gb - i don't have a bluray writer though.

I don't bother with Zipping the runtimes; I just copy them to a USB hard drive, keeping the last 2 cops. My purchases I copy to the drive, and burn them to DVD.
I need to give this free backup program a try; it can be set up to only copy files that have changed....

welllp, did all my hoovering and kitchen scrubbing last night. so i can give 100% of my weekend to practice with the animation graph tool.
hmm, i didn't try reading the ref manual about it.
am i setting myself up for disappointment, thinking to make a blockbuster cgi movie with poser?
i was going to start with a trailer, but is the movie supposed to come first?
what's the sequence professionals do?
if i make Aiko dance gangham style, do i have to pay royalties to the gangham dude?
or, maybe Aiko is more of a slow smooth jazz girl.

I'm Sooooo glad I found this thread! If EVER there was one in neeed of locking.. opps.... sorry... wrong hat. 
I tbhought I was the only one incapable of finishing projects! I've onl;y got about half a dozen comics running around on my hard drive that probably will never see the light of day simply because I can't seem to keep at them! Between sick family members/friends, sitting my granddaughter and other real ife issues, seems like I just don't have the mental energy to keep after it.
Hmmmm. Wonder if herding cats here contributes to the problem?

if it wasn't so frikkn cold out i'd take the bus up to the barnes and nobles to browse what they publishing in fairy art these days.
cooking up some fresh 3 cheese ravioli. or mebbe 4 and baking it into a ravioli parm. it'll feed me for a few days lol. unless i can give some away? ...

lol, having life is overrated.
was thinking,
instead of struggling with the g2m to poser for now (time crunch),
if i saved M6 as a mannequin to poser and load a full body morph 'pose'
and let it do it's thing to frame 30,
would draping and wind calculate as if i were actually rotating limbs?
as long as it's not intersecting anything in frame 1,
does dyanmic cloth hair follow morphs or only rigging and scaling for calculating movement?
every time i go into the hair room i lose the whole weekend, lol.

could start a lux render, that could chew up 10 days, lol
.< baking chocolate tin is near empty. gonna have to walk 3 miles to buy a new one. well, for all that effort, should try making homemade fudge, too.
i miss my bubby. being home isn't the same without a bubby to watch me cook.

render disaster. 14 hours so far, might as well let it finish.
idl lit only, sss, gc on. >.< in pp12 with no group id.
using the bowl primitive, capsule primitive normals flipped as idl light sources. round ground primitive was supposed to be a water plane. primitive's geometry lines are showing through.
i put strand hair on Tyler, never rendered strand hair with idl only. bucket hasn't reached the hair yet.
round ground plane sticking out of the bowl, was supposed to be water in the bowl. glad now didn't bother with color pebbles.
sigh, disaster.
3 more bucket rows to get to the hair.

i luv :wub: luv being able to put pz2s in the same folder with the cr2s.
iz so much easier to put outfit textures with the outfits.
i'm going to try exporting the new dragon and see how it works in pp12 as a native cr2.

took a cpr / first aid training class. 2 minutes with the dummi, they card-carrying certifying me for cpr.
i don't feel confident about it, thinking of buying myself the training dummy to practice. saw one on amazon, lights tell you if meeting the the 2" compression, and speed. 100 beats per second >.<. 30/2 compressions/breaths. they told me to expect to break ribs. ouch.

i'm trying real hard not to clutter other threads with my nonsense, so i'll clutter this one, :lol:
so:
poser srs, i need my poser to work consistantly as in, there's few things more traumatic than saving my setup characters and prop sets to the library and they don't work when adding them. 
sss made me start over.
can't go back to the drawing board every 6 months when it takes years to prep. my novels are a series, don't want to rebuild every time a s/w update comes out. not material behavior or scaling.
i can't remember the names of dresses or guns i previously used. the saved to library is my only salvation.
so:
new prop set, personal imho,
workflow-
poser7 is the stabilist for imorting, setting up new prop sets. do the door rigging. origins.
set up materials as .pz2 files for DS customers to apply mats.
or better yet make real ds shaders.
package it up for Poser7 and DS customers.
then bring it in to pp12/14 to optomize materials for newer features. add mc6 files.
using v4 in promo render? make her look good, arm fixes, etc
please don't use !!!+ file names.
please put custom morphs under /library/morphs folder.
last thing i want is !yourname directly under my /library folder
keep in mind customers remember bad experiences, your every product is also an advertisement for your next product.

he did mention it. >.< odds are pretty low, something between 7.6 and 13%.
and said the beat to Stayin Alive was good song to keep time for 100 beats per second.
