I have just recently started browsing products from Renderosity and am a little confused about which ones will work with my DAZ3D 4 Pro version studio. There are a lot of products such as: "Black Moon" for Victoria 4(I have the Genesis figure and the Victoria 5 figure) that say they are Poser compatible but have not been tested for DS. Can anyone tell me how to figure out which products are compatible with my studio. I do have a Poser directory and a Poser Format in My Library on my studio. Also; if I buy a compatible product from Renderosity, do I load it to my studio the same way as if I had bought it from the DAZ store?. My operating system is Windows Vista Home premium 32 bit. Thanks for any help or advice!!!!!!

Unless it states "Not DAZ Comoatable" or is for Clothing room it should all work in DAZ Studio

Most stuff will work. You have to watch for things that state poser python, or dynamic clothing which are poser specific. You may have to adjust the shaders.

In reading your post I understand you do not have V4, only genesis and V5, correct? You will need to make sure any characters you are looking at for genesis do not require the V4 for genesis morphs sold at DAZ (many do). Unless a character is specifically for genesis or V5 only, none of the morphs will work, only textures. As for V4/M4 clothing, most will work on genesis with the transfer utility built into DS4. Shoes/boots are another thing though and most do not convert well. Most textures will work, although you may need to tweak the settings in DS for the best results. Stay away from python scripts, SSS shaders which are mostly for poser and dynamic cloth as that only works in the poser cloth room.
Most props work fine, but again, you might have to tweak the texture settings.

As all you have is the Genesis figure (Victoria 5 is a character set, not a figure) then most of what's here is of no real use to you, as it was designed for use with Poser figures.
Your looking for content that Genesis compatable and there isn't much here http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/search.php?criteria=Genesis&adv_search=
You can use Auto fit to make some of the Victoria 4 and Michael 4 clothing fit, but it's a poor fit and the footware usually gets crumpled.

The Marketplace page seems to load weird. While the first page makes it look like there's only 3 pages, there's actually 8 and some of the items are varied. It really depends on what you want to get out of Genesis. I've learned there's various ways to "cheat" to expand things (V4/M4 poses tend to work on Genesis, skin tones can be transferred over, Autofit has varying degrees of usefulness) but it takes a small bit of risk. Or...exploration. If you see something that looks interesting, ask around, download the product's readme, and read the reviews other people have left.

One other thing to note is Renderosity Products install from a .zip file, not a product installer such as Daz product.
In my opinion the Daz installer may make life easier for some. But it can be problematic at times and bloats download sizes somewhat.
As far as compatibility goes you can also check the reviews on the bottom of the product page. Sometimes buyers will note there experience using the product with Daz Studio.
There is really no hard and fast way of checking the compatibility of a product. Your example with a V4 product is a good example.
If you have V4 installed it may work fine in Daz or it might not. It definitely won't work without V4 installed. There are quite a number of parameters with compatibility of content and experience is generally the best litmus test.
FSMCDesigns pointed out some of the main incompatibilities between Poser and Daz Studio Content " Python Script, SSS Shaders....."
As ZamuelNow suggests "If you see something that looks interesting, ask around, download the products readme and read the reviews."
All the best,
Razor
