Subject: .CR2 and .OBJ files

Hello, I've been trying to model my own clothing for Victoria 4. I have an exported .obj file of a shirt I made in Marvelous Designer, and I'm trying to set it up as a character / .cr2 file in Poser so I can use the Morphing Clothes program to add Victoria's morphs to the outfit.

How does one create a .cr2 file of a .obj file? How does one create a Clothes Poser Figure with just an .obj? Or am I going in the right direction?

Well, you'll need to group it. And good luck doing that with the delaunay triangles Marvelous Designer exports ;). You're better off using it as dynamic rather than a conformer. If you want to use it as a conformer you'll probably have to retopologize it. In the cloth room (dynamics) those triangle arrangements work in your favor ;).

.obj is the correct format to use, in both cases (dynamic or conformer).

OBJ2CR2 will take your OBJ file and very quickly and painlessly make it into a Poser figure that may then be conformed to V4.

If you are using a later version of Poser (8 onwards) you will be able to use the included Wardrobe Wizard to add morphs to that clothing to match morphs in the figure.

OBJ2CR2 rocks. :-)

I wouldn't worry too much about the triangulation. In my experience, grouping accuracy isn't all that important (and OBJ2CR2 takes advantage of this); however if it's assymmetrical it can increase your workload when making morphs.
