Can anyone point me to a tread or tutorial that really explaians how to produce realistic refective surfaces. I just bought the Hyper Chamber from Dreamland (a terrific product) and want to use it as a set extension in a short film I'm working on. I need to get the semi-shiny look on the floor and the chambers to make it work. I'm an editor, not a Poser expert, so I need some basic knowledge to get me started. I know BB is the forum guru on this, but I need to start a bit lower on the food chain to understand the methods used to get this look.
Any help would be most welcome.

A lot of the info you may be given depends on what version of Poser you are using. Always supply that when asking questions.

TM - sorry I saw your PM but forgot about it as I was really busy when it came in.
The promo renders of that set were done in Vue.
If you get my BBGlossy shader you'll have all the shiny stuff you want.

The look is from the Fresnel effect. If you have PP2012 it's easy. If you have P9 it's pretty easy. If you don't have either, it's harder.
But my shader takes care of it for all versions.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Because of the need to do lowest common denominator, we have a problem with texture filtering. If you have P9/PP2012, you want to change texture filtering to "Crisp" on just about every texture image.
And you need to add Fresnel reflection (via BBGlossy or other shaders).
Here's a "before and after".

BBGlossy applied to the Coke machine, air pump, and hose.

Thanks BB, I thought you might chime in. Don't know why I always forget to mention my version of Poser - which is PP 2012. I'll try this when I get home tonight.

Why do I always feel like a complete idiot when I post here? First, sorry about the double post. Second, where the heck do I find BB's Glossy shader? I went on his site and couldn't find it. Or is it strictly a Matmatic thing? I went to the thread BB suggested and it's obviously going to take some serious time for me to figure this out. I just got up to speed in expressions in AfterEffects, and as a mouse and keyboard shortcut kind of guy, all this text is a bit intimidating. Bear with me, I'm sure I'll have more questions in the near future.

Like I said, total idiot. I found the shader in the thread. Now I have to download Matmatic and see if I can figure it out.

You don't need matmatic. The thread has the mt5 in it.
