I tried out 5 skin maps on my V4 in the scene I was creating, before settling on one. I did not realize the the ------- poser was SAVING every single texture for EACH skin SET in the scene file... argh! I assume that loads up P7's memory?
So I deleted my V4, saved the file (after saving her fixed up pose) and emptyed the poser cache.. started again, brought in a "clean" (I thought) V4, put on the one skin I wanted...and when I wen to look in the material room for the listing of textures used..there they ALL were!?
I wondered if there is a python for P7 to remove all the unused textures from the scene file.. I do NOT want to start over from scratch...
Thanks for any help.

Are these detached nodes that need to be removed?

Poser does not save textures to a pz3 (scene) file or to any other library file. What it does save are texture references. That is to say, paths pointing to where the texture files are to be found.
I suggest that the first thing you should try is to close Poser. Restart Poser and load your scene, this may have cleared the unwanted textures. If not, you may have to open the pz3 in a text editor or cr2 editor and edit out the texture references. Replace any unwanted texture reference with "NO_MAP" (without the quote marks). Perhaps there is a py script that will do it for you, but I don't know of any.

Hmmm well the way I am seeing the textures listed for all the other ladies, is not only in the material room refrence thingy but when I start a RENDER, Firefly is LOADING every single texture map for each lady. - this is the reason I assume Poser has um...registered and is actually trying to load them all FOR the render.
I am going to try looking at the pz3 with word pad, thanks. all else fails, I will just hope it will render without crashing anyway.
thanks!

Then the older textures are still called for in the material room.
Check that they are effextively removed from all nodes.
Yeah, the more mat zones , the sooner one forgets one of them. Mostly preview.
