Been looking around for some good stone type textures, stones of all kind, agates, marble, shale, sandstone, things like that. I'd love to find something like http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/semi-precious-gemstones/65089 because it is such an awesome set of textures, tried looking through the forum and marketplace, but most links/items are dead

lol, not quite what I had in mind, I would prefer them in Poser instead of images :P

You do realize poser uses images for textureing, right?
or were you looking for procedural node based stone textures?
(Also of note.. cgtextures is for end user use only.. no redistribution in any form or modification is allowed.)

That last is not true, Gareee. Please be careful about such statements. Be absolutely sure you have the facts right before you get people in a tizzy.
The original, unmodified textures cannot be redistributed without permission. With permission, it can and has been done.
Modification and redistribution, without explicit permission, is ALLOWED AND REQUIRED so long as the texture you make is bundled with a 3D prop or figure.
Also - it is possible to speak to the owner and actually get permission for redistribution, even unmodified.
I quote from the cgtexture license: (On the site, click About then License)
Quote - CONDITIONS OF USE
Use of the Textures is only allowed under the following conditions: - Private or commercial use - Use in 2D or 3D computer graphics, movies and printed media - Incorporation in computer games, 3D models - Selling 3D models bundled with modified versions of the textures, when the texture is customized for the 3D model
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Well, when you register there you have to agree to this statement:
"I'm not allowed to resell or spread these images as 'textures' or in texture packs, not even when modified."
I read that as a blanket non redistribution clause, but apparantly that is not the case, since they were talking specifically about texture resources, not textures for items.
So many people here seem to feel like its a free wild west image buffet out there, and I'd hate to see them have that bite them in the @$$. ;)

Yes, but the license specifically states that you can use them for personal or commercial, without royalties ;) They just don't want you ripping the textures off the site and selling something like a texture cd or making a similar site of your own.
