Well, can't wait to install the new version and play with it a bit. Get used to controls, etc.
Should be interesting. Only thing I hate about a new machine is reinstalling all the props/characters again.

Thanks Sam ---- gonna start off with some Zbrush tutorials on Monday --- I think I'll do the tank one. Seems pretty straight forward.

If you have an external drive, or a large thumb drive just copy your runtimes rather than reinstalling. Of course don't copy over things like python scripts and wacros.
And enjoy the new software/computer

Yeah, I learned the hard way not to copy over the python scripts. If you do it messes it up pp2012 and you have to reinstall.
I'm excited for you, Johnny! Good luck on the tank.

Took me about a week and a half to get used to the new functions. It'll be a snap ;).
Don't make the mistake of copying your current versions main runtime over the new versions runtime...lol. I did that once - borked the whole installation :P. Oops...lol.

Thanks All! I'm looking forward to it. Tomorrow's going to be the longest Sunday I've ever had to go through......LOL.....
I'll have to remember to copy everything from in the runtimes over since the computer will be on my household network of 4.
Thanks again everyone for the kind words! Looking forward to playing with the new machine myself

Cool to know khai ---- thanks! I will actually have 3 on the network. Taking away an old dinosaur after the new one arrives and placing the one that I'm using now in its place.
The old one has an "AGP" interface.......

Only one more day to go. Have fun with your new toys! I think you are going to love Poser Pro 2012.
Which tank tutorial are you planning on doing?

Congrats! I'm on a middling/old Mac Pro myself. Still a 4 core 2.66 Ghz Xeon-but with old graphics. I work in Biotech-with some recent layoffs so I can't justify going i7 although I really want to! :-)
Ragtopjohnny posted Sun, 29 July 2012 at 4:02 PM
@ jani --- it's a TU80 tank for Zbrush, but I started first with the basics. Doing a skull tutorial instead, looked easer ;-) Can't wait --- should be here by 10am!
Thanks Eric. It's been a long time coming for me. Over 5 years waiting for this day. I hear yah on the dinosaurs, they're good for extra storage, though after I get this one, my old AGP card computer is going off the network and into storage. I'm then planning on putting my current Dell in its place.....
