I posted this in the photoshop forums, but those seem to be dead. So i'll try my luck here, since a lot of poser users also do postwork.

I was wondering how you would go about making drool strings in photoshop cs5. I'm planning on doing a few werewolf pictures, and i want to use them for its mouth for more realism. Is there any particular layer styles that would accomplish this? Here's a few pictures of what i'm looking for:

i would do the first one with a simple layer using a white airbrush set to about 30-50% opacity to build up the ropes of saliva. use layer transparency, the eraser tool, and multiple layers to build up the more opaque areas.

use a white single-pixel brush to draw in some sharp highlights for the wet look. pay attention to what direction your lighting is coming from for the highlights, and dont overdo it: just a handful of tiny white specks is enough to create a wet look - overdo it and it starts to look to much like an illustration.

Theres also the alien skin drip filter - part of eye candy. Can be a bit visually obvious, but if you play with opacity levels it's OK.

Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.

There are some "drip" brushes for photoshop, but these don't give the impression of the same stickiness that drool really has.

Maybe you just have to paint it (link above).

Ron has a Slime brush set at the other place that begins with a D and ends in a Z and they have some coloring actions as well for blood or clear or green. Might be able to use those for inspiration or assist you in your Drooling :)

Ah, I even own that set of brushes. I'm pretty sure I bought them for precisely that purpose; I just haven't gotten around to using them yet.
