Can someone help me please ?
I downloaded a file (town) from Blendswap yesterday, In the zip file was the blend file and the textures, I rendered the file and it came up ok with all the textures etc,
I then exported it as a OBJ file so I could open it up in Bryce to create a landscape scene. In the OBJ folder was the Town.OBJ file and Town.mtl.
I imported it into Bryce but when I rendered the image it just rendered in the grey default colour.
Why didn't the textures come in?
and how do I get them to come in on the file ?
thanks in advance

If I remember correctly, the mtl file simply refers to the location of the textures. You'll have to copy/move the texture files to the directory specified in the mtl (You can open it with a text editor and see.)

Thats what I believe as well, I looked at the mtl file and I can't find the line that indicates the location .
It renders ok in Blender but I cannot get it to work in Bryce, looks like I will have to ungroup the file and load the textures one at a time.
But it dows have me confused, I always beleived that the OBJ file always looked at the mtl file.
Thanks again

It may be that your .blend file is rendering in Cycles using a node setup that is not getting written to the .mtl file when exporting. If there is no texture path written in the .mtl file then that is why it is rendering in the default grey. Try reapplying the textures using BI.
