Clouseau is wanting to print and frame some Vue renders. Does anyone have any useful tips and advice on this. Clouseau uses Vue 8 and has photoshop. He is wanting to print an image up to 1 meter long.

Any advice is welcome.

1 metre?

well you'll need ot enlarge it up to

300 pixels per 25 mm of print size

so 1000mm/25 =40

40x300=12000

ie, largest dimension of image needs ot be enlarged up to approximately 12000 pixels for a good print.

You MAY get away with 100 pixels per 25mm, so 3000 pixels on largest dimension.

photoshop is ok, but Fractal resizer is better

For such large prints, it's vital to render the final image in Vue at LEAST 1600 pixels in size (largest dimension)

:)

D-size paper (34" x 22") at 200 dpi.

Your render would be 6800 x 4400.

Try that first before deciding on 300 or 600 dpi which need larger size renders.

A1-size paper (841mm x 594mm) would be an equivalent.

In Photoshop use a program like onOne Resize 7 or Alien Skin Blowup. They enlarge fractally. I work 2200 x 14xx depending on my format. I blow it up to 13" x 19". I have also worked smaller when an image is taking a lot of time to render. I print at 240 on my Epson printer.
