Ever use the morph tool to eliminate some poke through on an item (say around the torso of V4 on a shirt), and when you click to "pull" a little bit, it switches from the shirt-abdomen to V4-abdomen, and then does nothing?!?
Any way to avoid that nuisance?

which is still not a perfect solution as you can still loose focus...which creates a suggestion for the next morph tool update; the ability to not only select a certain part of a figure (now possible) but also a lock of somekind so only the object currently selected whether it be a figure or a prop will be morphed and not the 'focus' jumping game currently available. I'd be more than happy to be required to make an extra mouse click on some control of some kind to prevent the tedious re-focusing usually required :)

Shift key seems to work, thanks Vilters!!

yes, that's an overdue function, and i'm surprised, it still is an issue.
if nothing else helps, you can hide the disruptive mesh parts temporarily in the parameters tab, but that makes the morphing kind of a guessing game and you'll have to work very carefully.

It's best when removing poke thru to push the underlyng figure in not pull the cloths out.
Snarlygribbly posted Tue, 28 August 2012 at 6:38 PM
Ok .. I just made a little addon to help with this :-)
It's only for Poser 9 / PP2012 with SR3
If you click on 'Stick' then the addon makes a note of the currently selected actor and then won't let Poser change the selection to anything else.
Click on 'Unstick' to go back to normal operation where you can select other actors.
Maybe useful for stuff other than just the morph tool?

I only threw it together a few moments ago, so play carefully with it :-)

Hoorah! Thanks for this. That's something that's been getting really annoying with the morphing tool!

Well...thats a good point! I really had not thought of it that way. In this particular case, I had a piece of jewelry under clothes sticking through, so a little bump on the clothes made more sense.
BTW, thanks for the utility, SG!

I've installed this script and it has installed to the python -> addons directory but how do I run scripts from the addon directory? Are they run from the python scripts palette?
Janl posted Wed, 29 August 2012 at 8:28 AM
Oh, all of a sudden the Windows -> Addons option has appeared!
Thank you for a very useful script, Snarly!

How's it going now? Have you managed to get it working?
I'll try to help you get it working if you can provide me with enough information ...

Snarly, that's wonderful!
Do you think you can manage a quick script to get Poser Pro 2012 to brew some coffee and toast a scone while it's rendering? If anyone can do it...

Thank you for your offer of help, Snarly. I don't seem to have the Windows -> addon option. I must have done something when playing with the new script and it appeared but now it has gone again so I can't run this script or the subdivision one.
ETA: This is all I have under Window.
Snarlygribbly posted Wed, 29 August 2012 at 2:56 PM
This probably means that the addons folder is missing.
I just tested this by renaming my addons folder to addonsx and the Window/Addons menu disappeared for me too.
The addons folder will be here:
For me, this is:
C:Program FilesSmith MicroPoser Pro 2012RuntimePythonaddons
Cheers,
Snarly

I have the addons folder at:
C:Poser Pro 2012RuntimePythonaddons
In that folder I have:
poseraddon.py
poseraddon.pyc
and the PythonShell folder.
I did have your two scripts at one point but then I removed them and put them in their own runtime to see if that made any difference.
Snarlygribbly posted Wed, 29 August 2012 at 3:32 PM
Hmm... baffling!
I don't know why it isn't showing for you then :-(
You could do a quick test: add my scripts to their own runtime and make sure that the runtime is linked to.
Now open Poser.
If you get a message that 'poseraddon' is missing, then it means Poser found my addon scripts but that the main addons folder ('C:Poser Pro 2012RuntimePythonaddons') can't be found.
If you get no error messages it means Poser can't find any addon folders at all (unless, of course, everything is working fine and all the addons are showing!) and, assuming you have set them up correctly, perhaps there is something wrong with your Poser installation?
Most puzzling! :-(
Edited to add: It might be worth checking that you are in fact still on SR3! Rolling back to SR2 would cause the menu to disappear ...

I'm not getting any error message, Snarly and I'm on SR3. I've never done a roll back. I'm thinking maybe it is because I didn't install to the Program Files directory. I know I have seen the addon link at some point in the past so maybe a SR has removed it or perhaps somehow I've messed up my installation. I don't have any other problems so I'm not sure. It seems that maybe I should reinstall at some point just to rule out the latter. Thanks for your help anyway.

Already finding this extremely useful. Works beautifully.
I didn't realize that the "focus", unless unstickied, does extend into the material room, which made me wonder what was going on momentarily, as my selection kept returning to the same thing. I'm not sure what utility that might have -- I guess if you're changing/testing a bunch of materials on a figure that's in the background and keep selecting the wrong things (happens to me a lot when I'm testing skydomes), it could be useful to sticky it. But it's by no means a problem. Wondering what other uses it might have... Nifty little script. Thank you for making it.

It looks like my problem with the missing addons under window was due to Netherwork's Scripts Auto Launch. The script has been updated so if you are suffering the same problem then redownload the script and ...
Quote - If you are experiencing an issue where the add-ons are not showing up under "Window" in Poser's menu, load Scripts Auto Launch and press "Restore Poser" then immediately press "Launch with Poser". That should fix any funky behavior.
It's just my luck that I didn't get notification about this before I reinstalled Poser.
The script is working fine now, Snarly. Thank you.

Snarly! You rock!, what a great idea.
Is the script source included? I'd love to take a look and see how the new plugin system works, I'm trying to script something myself.
Just for the sake of getting an idea out there, which complements your great tool, is a "freeze" script, most CG tools I've used have this, which just freezes the selected object and makes it unselectable (some even change the display when doing that).
You would select a figure or body part and hit freeze. Then you could unfreeze figures from a select list.

Sure. Attached.
Remove the '.txt' extension when you save it - the file is a zip archive.
There is no licence file: the code is so minimal that it might as well be considered public domain.
