Subject: How to make M4 one-eyed / cyclops?

Does anyone know if there is either a partial head morph that will do this, or if there is an easy enough way to remove the eyes on M4 (without there being blank holes) and to put one eye in the middle of the forehead? I want to turn an existing M4 character I have into a cyclops, although I could start over with a fresh character if need be. I just don't want him to be Freak/monster sized. I want an otherwise normal looking M4 character that just happens to have one eye in the middle. Is that possible?

Yes, it is.  A while back, I asked about a completely faceless Vicky and was pointed to a thing on ShareCG - I was on a different computer then, so I will go look for it.  Also, Blackhearted posted his attempt to make what I wanted - he did it as a "hmm . . . " sort of thing, and it looked okay for what he did.

I will look for both real quick and post links when I find these.

As for making a new eye where one normally does not go, I have no idea how to do that, but I am certain it can be done.

(This was posted as a "how would I do it" experiment)

(This was posted in my thread as a "buy it now" suggestion)

I hope these help a little. :)

Hi Risus

Are you after something like this...

OR, something a bit more like this...

As in, do you want to simply close the eye sockets and add a new eye in the forehead, like in the upper image?

e.g. Oskarsson has a prop for this for V4 that could be easily adapted to smart prop to M4, I'd imagine...

http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/third-eye/86997

Or... do you want to merge the eye sockets into one central socket?

Cheers 😉

Hey monkeycloud, thanks for the reply! I'd rather do something like the second one, where it's just one single eye in place of where the two eyes should be. The problem is, there only seem to be one or two cyclops characters out there and they're very much in the troll/monster category. The thing is, I'm doing some Percy Jackson / Heroes of Olympus-inspired artwork at the moment and really wanted to include Percy's brother, Tyson, who is a Cyclops. But he's not some huge classic monster, he's just a very big teenager with one eye, which is why I'd like to be able to use a very specific morph on just the upper head, so that it doesn't change the rest of the character. I'm willing to use a full head morph as long as I can alter the features afterwards so that he looks more human than not, or if there's a full cyclops head morph that comes that way, I'm happy with that too. Any ideas?

Gremalkyn, unfortunately removing the face is not really what I'm looking for but thank you for the suggestion!

I did a search around before, but couldn't find anything more myself either...

I suspect a parented prop over the region of the eyes, combined with a morph to make a recess for the prop might be the way to go?

Unfortunately I can't suggest anything existing that I've come across, as yet...

...I'll keep both eyes peeled though 😉

I wondered if it might be feasible to make a prop based around the BBEye... which is available at Bagginsbill's freebie site...

https://sites.google.com/site/bagginsbill/free-stuff/bbeye

...e.g. make a set of eyelids and surrounding skin region to enclose the BBEye and merge into the rest of your face skin texture?

I'm not sure I have anywhere near enough modelling skill yet to offer to do that myself... or else I would offer to have a go.

Maybe someone else will read this and get some ideas? 😉

Hi!

If you got Mike 3 there is/was a product/morph + eye prop at daz for Freak 3, as you can see by my picture it works decently on Mike3 and Vicky3.

The file is called "ps_ch067b_Cyclops" if you want to check it out.

I do have M3, although I barely use him since I have almost nothing clothing, etc. for him. But the image you showed looks perfect. I'll try to track down the guy who made it to see if he might release one that's compatible with M4. You don't think that one (for Freak 3) would work with M4, do you?

Dodger might still be lurking around DAZ these days, the morph is pretty dated.  But part of the package does involve a smart prop eye along the lines Monkeycloud suggested.  If you can morph M4 without mangling the mesh, you'll half way there.

Unless he found a "security hole" when the site was updated, I doubt it.  Dodger was banned from the DAZ forums a few years ago.

Oh wow, really? I guess this is not the place to ask what happened but I had hoped to get in touch with him about doing an updated version. Oh well...maybe someone else will give it a try. If not then I guess I'll just have to blank out the eyes and do a bit of postwork.
