i understand why poser users complain about genesis
why daz users complain about missing documentation, manuals pdf
as we can not have this conversation on the daz forum, why who know's, daz didn't like it...
i like studio (from a future view (not what it is today), we all know without documentation...)
i played with poser from version 4 till pro 2012.
a few things that need to explained here are.
i think studio is made free for 2 reasons.
why created studio 4 and not just use version 3?
shapeshifting, new engine?
the real problem that's available for a while in poserworld, is called evolution/changes...
without to start app wars or be a poser or daz fanboy.
clear your mind now and only watch to the possibilities
or first do some research if you don't know the below program very well (youtube is full of examples)
we are not playing with autodesk software...
you really have take a look to the features that are available today in Blender (free software).
i'm not talking about it's modeling tools, but only tools/things you need for character design
things like rig/IK/FK,ragdoll system (blenrig), animationtools that blender have to animate characters,
yes blender have well done dynamics for hair and clothes, softbody, and very good choice of render engines available)
Now is probably your answer, why not just use blender?
that's not the real problem...
what i try to explain about evolution here
now if you see all this tools are free and a pro version of poser cost you $499.
I didn't said that that poser or studio have to be free!
but, at such prices people expect that it's features are well done developed.
and not use the same old technology of years ago. (i still see no big evolution between poser 4 and pro2012)
at this point, daz is right and they change strategy to something more... (what that program will be, we still have to wait and see as it's still in developing)
what will poser do about changes? (we have to wait and see)
developers in poser/daz universe are small we all know that..
strategy changes are really needed if they still want to exist within a few years.
because other 3d sources grow rapidly.
I wonder who came first with the idea to make weightmapping available in poserworld (daz or poser team)?
