Sorry if this is a totally stupid question, but can someone explain the 2D and 3D difference to me? Once you render a 3D you have a 2D image, right? So . . . ??? Is 2D something that's created with other than 3D software.
For that matter, if it started as a photograph but is now a work of art that doesn't resemble photography, does it still go in the photography category?
Thanks!

no question is stupid, we do not have a cheep means to creat true 3d art so we work in 3d to creat a 2d pic of what we do. in 2d you have to redo all the work if you do not like the sean and want a differnt point of vue, in 3d you can not in 2d. and no it becomes ART not photography, that is done only with a camera.

For the contest:
3D: Anything rendered with a 3D program. Poser..daz.. etc
2D: Should be just that actual drawn etc.
Its best to keep anything "rendered" in 3D
Same thing goes with Photo, if it is a photo then that is where it should go. But, if you can no longer tell its a photo, then 2D would be the right place.
Hope that helps! :)

Thanks for the clarification. I do a lot of photography that doesn't end up looking like photography, and 3D that I take into software and continue to work on, so the edges become blurred. But if it starts as a render, I'll call it 3D. My favourite season; I hope I have time to come up with something.

I am in, but notice that some of the items are things I already own. Will there be a choice A or B, sort of prize system? Good to know! ;)
Also I agree a Tablet would be nice! Mine is old!
Lastly, how augmented can a 3D pic be before it crosses over into 2D territory? Can it be a combination of several elements? Say a pic with verbage in it?
Inquiring minds need to know! ;)

Is there water in your future or is
it being shipped away to be resold to you?

I would have hoped that someone would have bothered to have answered by now.
I guess none keeps an eye on the Daz Studio forum here, its nice to know that we are such highly valid customers.
I'm already regretting staying with the Prime club - this just reinforces my regret.

3D is pretty simple, like I said the image must be rendered with Poser, daz etc. Post work is fine as long as the image looks like a 3D image. If it is completely painted over then we may ask you to move it to 2D.
Regarding the prizes, I'm unsure. I'll contact Kristi about that.
