If one wants to include children in their renderd has "Kids 4" with various accessories for it ,ok
For adult characters (male and female) to M4, V4 characters have thousands of accessories to chosse (also works for very old people)
But if you need to include in your renders teenagers (between 7 and 17 years aprox) there are complicating the situation.
I found useful the morph that come with stephanie 4 for characters of that age, especially morph proportions with a touch of a4 (with the advantage that I can use all my items V4)
But can not find a similar alternative for M4
there is any alternative for make teenagers using the M4 mesh / morphs / acesories?
( perhaps something similar to S4 but for M4 )
Tks in advance

They never made a David 4 (Stephanie's younger counterpart) for Poser. They only did a Genesis version of him and skipped the Gen4s. If you want a younger man, you'll have to either use DS4 and Genesis or Poser and use David 3. Or try scaling Mike 4 now that SR3 has fixed the scaling issues.

There is no "ready to use" M4 PreTeen/Teen that I'm aware of.
This one I made myself in ZBrush.
But with single-axis scaling now fixed in Poser 9/PP 2012, it should be a lot easier to "age-up" the Kids-4 or to "age-down" M4.
Still, to get a really convincing result, you need quite a bit of custom morphing. (Which you then will need to transfer over to the clothing)
I've already seen very convincing preTeens/Teens made from Genesis, but, alas...

First of all, thanks for the replies
Genesis is not an option for me since I use Poser LaurieA
the option of scaling a M4 might be useful , i will try ....
I congratulate for your model in zbrush **JoePublic **, ¿is a M4 morph or a new character? unfortunately I have not the skills to make myself do a morph like yours in zbrush
I hope ( now has fixed the scaling issues) it goes on sale some teenage morph that allows me to use my M4 things , or a tuto to make it for myself

You can always check my store on DAZ. Ashley International M4 has younger custom morphs you can use as a base for teens and Santo International has a bit of scaling and some custom bodies shapes and heads. You may need a copy of Morphing clothes because the bodies are slimmer than typical M4s and vendors may not put those particular morphs in clothing. Forbiddenwhispers (who does hair and any makeup options) PA store is on sale, so those products are on sale for a few more hours.
This is a render with one of Ashley's morphs:

so when you adjust the scaling you need some sort of reveal scale python script. eg snarlygribbly's scenefixer. this allows you to make scale dials visible eg X to make the forearms and arms and maybe collars shorter.
You can reduce the y scale of the chest and abdo. and the Y scale of the legs and thighs.
You need poser 9 or Poser 2012 to do this, as has already been said. If you have an earlier version when you bend the scaled limbs the figure will deform badly.
Thanks Male_M3dia, I will check that out. it sounds interesting.

Ashley M4 and Kane M4 at DAZ are good places to start. For textures, Elite Jeremy is also very young looking. And, of course, Poser 9/Pro 2012 SR3 now supports single-axis scaling. Also, if you have M4Enhanced M4 can use Stephanie's or Reby Sky's scaling morphs.

Male_M3dia ,Your character Ashley looks great, I will bear in mind that option in case I can not scale a M4 for myself
esther , you helped me a lot with that scrip to uncover scales that are not listed by default in the dials , that was always a problem for me TKS
I did not know of the existence of an m4 that could use the morph of V4, since is a great tip Zaarin
Thanks to all for the help , I apreciate this

By the way if you want all the scale dials, i found the shape of the woman product has a pose that works for M4 as well as V4 to make all the scale dials visable in all the body parts.

Quote - Unfortunately I could not get that Ashley M4 to instal properly on my mac. The installer says it can't find something it needs. I have got mina in a folder with M4 externally. I reinstalled mina and the instructions say to run a .bat file. I don't hava a .bat file but i found some other dz file I think i was supposed to run but when I double clicked on it nothing seemed to happen. I'm not sure in poser 9 if I really need iDaz in the main runtime or not.
So anyway I mixed a bit of hiro with M4 in the end.

Ashley needs to be installed in the same place as where you installed M4, as it and M4 Enhanced both use ExP and they need to update M4's installation. Both are set up that way so you can use his morphs to mix in with any other product without taking up community channels.
estherau posted Mon, 24 September 2012 at 6:28 PM
thanks, it is now installed. I applied the body morph but nothing seems to happen. Is there a dial somewhere I have to turn to 1 or should it be automatic?

Make sure you load a new M4 to your scene, ExP updates the M4s so adding a new M4 inherits Ashley's head morphs and Enhanced's body morphs.

Lol, no. I'm trying to remember how that's caused, it's been a while since I've messed with M4, I think looking for "bobblehead M4" on DAZ's old forum may have the solution.

Check to see if there is an icon named "Update Michael 4" base on your desktop and double click that.. I think that should update your installation manually. Otherwise you'll have to go to /runtime/libraries/!DAZ and see if there is a bat or cmd file (i forget what's it called on the mac) named DZCreateEXPFiles-M4
estherau posted Mon, 24 September 2012 at 6:59 PM
well it did update this time at installation. I didn't get asked this time to run any updaters manually, and at the end of the installation I got a message that it was doing that (there was a checkbox that I left ticked for that).

Last time I applied the morphs to an injected M4 who already had the Morphs ++ injected. this time I just applied the morphs to a standard M4.
His arms still look a bit beefy to me. Is that how they are meant to look.

I like the result, one of the most interesting teenager shape I've seen with m4, maybe with a little tweak in the arms and a texture ...
sounds very interesting that Ashley's character

Yes, keep in mind it's still has to fit M4's clothing and at the time to do the scaling I wanted to do would work in DS and not in Poser. Santo has the size scaling options that wouldn't break in Poser 7+ as well as some custom shapes.
I redid him for M5 and he's a lot more closer to a young adult, including a revised texture that has less body hair, custom bodies and scaling.
WildDesign's collegiate outfit (sold here) used Ashley as a base to include those extra morphs from morphs++ for the shapes that aren't normally included.
estherau posted Mon, 24 September 2012 at 11:20 PM
so are you saying teh college outfit will fit him then? I have that one. It is only a jacket though without trousers.

I would need to get wardrobe wizard to fit him properly I guess. Although it isn't going too badly just as is with the scaling dial ticked on the clothes.

I make you a question esther , to scale the different parts of the body, you take each part (rigth collar, R shoulder, R forearm, chest etc. ..) and modify the XYZ scale ( for example 95 %) or take the scale tool (in edition tools ) ?
LaurieA posted Tue, 25 September 2012 at 3:51 PM
Or when conforming, make sure "Include Scales when Conforming" is checked on the figure.
