I really need to know how do you save something that you made or worked on?
The other day I put a lot of time into a model, went to save it not as a scene but as a obp. Then went back the next go round guess what not to be found!
The mat file's were in there slot's but no model.I mean people show up here all the time with free model's in obp or obj file.
It was a wast of eleven hr's work.
I just must be missing something or other? :)

What folder did you save it to? I usually just make a new folder in the Create folder & save the model/object to it. That seems to save materials as well.
If you want to save the obp file to your pc just use the export function at the bottom of the folder you made.
Hope this made sense.

thanks it make's sense. I figure out why I did not jot down the area or folder .
your way is cooler any way:)

I'm glad it helped.
I learned the hard way not to put everything in the user folder. It reached it's size limit & then I messed Bryce up trying to fix it.

Hi Ravyns
2 excellent Bryce Users named Franontheedge and Dan whiteside told me how to make these file types. To make an obj file or 3ds you have to make sure that every object and every group is not set on neutral set them on either positive or negative. Also What suggest you do is when the model is set ready save in the create folder and then import them back in press the c for convert and make sure the resolution is high for selected 64 is fine 128 is better. then once the object is a mesh go to file/export object and save in a folder for these files(I don't think it matters too much what folder as I use different one for different things.) create a new document and go to file/import object and once you want to make sure its set to object and material. and Bryce should import it if they are objects missing you will need to use the object in the create part of bryce reimport it and then make absolutely sure nothing is set on neutral.
Hope that helps a bit
Karl
PS if you use Mac like I do there is a problem with the mac version as I have found if it has over 24,000 polygons it refuses to convert and crashes I am not saying its like it for all macs but it certainly is for me.

I did no all of this Karl. When I sent the obj to content it compleat with textures and all.
closed Bryce reopened the next day and found all the work gone. But if I save it as a scene all's good.
I was going to make this item for everybody to use.you know a freebee or whatever.
If you look at the one scene in the wip of mine you will see a figure that has 309,000 triangles alone wow is all I can say
thanks for the info

Hi BigJohn
Sorry my mistake I thought your topic was wondering how to make .obp and .obj files. 309,000 Triangles is a lot of triangles. This Crappy Mac crashes with very small polygons when I try to convert them this has to be the worst Mac I have ever used right next to the ones that used to swear at you(I am being serious on that topic).

Karl
