I never thought I would miss the little green alien...
This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

OK, the non-graffic basic site (the one that occasional pops up between pages is back up, so they are rebooting. The tech staff will probably stay until its all working again. Maybe someone accidently kicked the plug out on the server in their hurry to go home for the weekend.

A "guru meditation" is the last message that a Linux machine shows before crashing hard. This means OS-kernel level crash. I never saw it showing in a web server, only on the console of the machine, but it's a rather serious crash. It can happen for a series of reasons, often hardware related, but it can also be just a sporadic problem.
Cheers

Looks like they took it down for the night. Probably get it back mid-morning or afternoon, their time.

Huh, got a topic reply email. But Firefox sees outage pages, regardless of the link.
IE gets in, so it looks like it's time to clear the ol' cache & cookies again...

Try refeshing in FF. Otherwise it sometimes redisplays the last page cached for a while.

I'm back in. Yeah, you'd think a hard refresh would work, but nossir.
Seems weird, but it took cache, cookies and restart.
Hard refresh failed. The page's own link did nothing. Cache+restart didn't work.
No idea why I needed to clear the Daz cookies, in this case... but whatever works.

No wonder it wouldn't let me download my purchase properly. It timed out all my download attempts and now I guess I have to wait a couple of days to request a reset.

Well Daz's website problems continue - corrupted downloads, failed downloads, submit message that opens a blank new reply rather than posting a message, website not displaying properly in some people's browsers. The website isn't down but it might as well for all the use it is at the moment.
