I don't want to start another thread re-posting all the details. I already started one under the Daz section on this site. This product will be for Both Daz and Poser.
http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2857148
or at Daz
http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewthread/8353/
However you can post comments here, since the Poser section is the most active:) and I would like to get feedback from this community. Thanks:)

Zev0 posted Mon, 01 October 2012 at 3:43 AM
I'm hoping in a months time it will be complete. It's a lot of work. Making sure everything is right and mapped correctly.

Very interesting project. I'm using EZskin on all figures. Will your product be compatible?
Zev0 posted Mon, 01 October 2012 at 2:24 PM
Don't know yet..I will experiment with shaders towards the end. The product is still in the mapping process.

That is an amazingly complex task. You have to know where all the veins are and which veins can be seen.
Download my free stuff here: http://www.renderosity.com/homepage.php?page=2&userid=323368
Zev0 posted Tue, 02 October 2012 at 11:33 AM
It is. Mapping these was a real pain, but worth it. Also I must still fade out the veins on certain areas. I basically have to go through hundreds of ref pics to see what is the most common ground. But there will be various presets. Some will only have in the hands and feet and forearms like most of us. Others will have more. Also I must see what veins stand out more than others when creating the displacement maps. I also have to find the right base colours for various skin tones. LOL then I must do it all over for V4..
moriador posted Tue, 02 October 2012 at 4:27 PM
Indeed, it sounds like an enormous task, and you really are taking the perfect realism seriously. I love that you're doing that.
This certainly has the potential to be one of those products that you find yourself using for just about every render.

Thanks:) Means a lot:) Reason I started this is because we have made huge leaps in terms of SSS and lighting, but most textures lack that little bit extra. I'm just trying to fill in the gaps lol. Not everybody is striving for realism, but its my small contribution towards those who are or who want that extra detail:)

Hello ZevO,
Excellent work. I will purchase this product for my male bodybuilder creations. I use M4 displacement map from DAZ, but some variations in veins distribution should be a plus. Veins are not only useful for bodybuilder characters but also for ordinary figures. I have a lot of visible veins particulary on forearms and hands.
Don't forget veins on the forehead
Veins on bodybuilder figures are essential for realism. See my creations in my gallery.
Thank
Allstereo

The M4 and V4 versions are both included in the product:) Technically you won't need the PSD. Just the actual .png files:) Works exactly the same. Drag the .Png over your texture in photoshop/Gimp and thats it:)

No Date yet. But I'm sure it wont be long. I have a very talented vendor working on the shaders as we speak..It's a bit more complicated since there is some scripting involved. I want it to work with the new Poser python and the old, so a lot of effort is going into its developement. I will keep you guys updated on its progress:)

Just got the Poser version back from shader developement. It is freaking awesome!!!. You click on the material file and a pop up menu appears and all you do is adjust the slider for strentgh for whatever you want to apply, be it colour overlay or displacement. Gonna spend the whole day testing making sure all the scripts work fine. You will have compatability from poser 8 and upwards.. There are individual scripts marking which script is for what version. I'll post some sceenies after I am done testing.
monkeycloud posted Mon, 05 November 2012 at 2:40 AM
Awesome... can't wait... and will be great to see an example of script-driven selective node appendment being triggered from a material file too I was hoping that was how it was going to work...
Zev0 posted Mon, 05 November 2012 at 2:43 AM
Lol me too. The aim was to make this as easy to use so all the python is hidden. Just click on the material icon and up pops the slider:) I'm glad it was done this way..

Zev0 posted Wed, 07 November 2012 at 8:54 AM
Thanks man. I am better at using Poser than Daz when it comes to rendering. I'm still learning how get great results in there. I'm used to IDL and the Material room. Was weird doing these renders. Haven't rendered in Poser for months lol. Glad they came out ok.
richardson posted Wed, 07 November 2012 at 9:58 AM
If this were my product,,,, I'd try to find a skin without the shading anomolies I see here. He looks like he was in a fight or,, just carried a load of wood some distance in the elbow regions. The knuckles seem off the uvs regions a well. I understand random shading effect for realism but, this one sells your product and may turn off some buyers who may think this is what they get. No offence. Crits are easy... I'd like to see this succeed as I consider it hi Q
Zev0 posted Wed, 07 November 2012 at 11:05 AM
Thanks for your input. To be honest, I'm not too concerned about the skin texture used. The important thing is that people see what the veins bring to it. Hense why I also included promo's showing it with and without on the same region on one of the other promo's so you can see the difference it makes. The appealing factor with Vascularity is that it works on any skin texture for M4&V4, which is stated on the main Promo. So if they don't like these, they'd still wonder how it will look on their favourite sets:)
I'm sure the Poser version will do ok, if the MR and Daz versions are anything to go by. They are both selling extremely well, and both of those have inferior Promo renders since I suck at rendering in Daz lol..Plus the Poser version is compatable with early versions such as Poser 8, which means a wider customer base can use it.
PS I love your renders. I am working on another side project called "realskin" for females which adds those natural imperfections in the skin such as dimples IE cellulite and faint stretch marks etc. Each which can be overlayed on any V4/V5 skin texture. I get tired of all these plastic looking renders. It's rare you see a slightly overweight person with perfectly smooth skin, so I plan to change that. They might be imperfections and undesired by some, but that is what makes the human skin surface appear more natural with relation to their body type. In the real world, majority of females have these, so if we are striving for realism, our renders should as well.
moriador posted Wed, 07 November 2012 at 5:28 PM
I think this product will sell very well regardless of the textures used in the promos. Word of mouth (mentions in forums and gallery credits) should do most of the work because it's something we've needed for such a long time. I really like the idea of "realskin". The options for expansion are endless, from scars and wounds, to subtle aging. There are products already in the marketplace, but they often don't include displacement maps, or, like the Daz "aged" textures, they are neither full body nor particularly subtle. It would be awesome to be able to render a convincing 35 year old, rather than an 18 year old with improbably perfect skin or an 80 year old -- which seem to be the options we have now.

Quote - Here is a test render of the beta files for project "realskin". They are extremely rough and needs a lot of refinement, I just slapped this together quickly, but you get the idea of what I you will be able to achieve. I think it just adds another missing dimension to skin texures. You'll be able to adjust all the overlay strengths individually. But more about this project later:)
Fabulous! This is exactly the kind of thing we need, especially with the ability to adjust the strength of the effects.
I think you may be busy for a very long time if you keep coming up with such good ideas. :)

Go get um tiger. This might be just as challenging. Especially if you go for displacement/ bump/ specmap accuracy. Perhaps you can team up with a texture maker for one "super skin" as a pomo.. This sounds like a great project as well.
Zev0 posted Tue, 13 November 2012 at 3:34 AM
Actually this project is a lot easier than vascularity:) But I need to finish one project before I pounce on this one. Got most of the process sorted out. explain super skin as a promo lol. I am a bit confused what you mean by this..
richardson posted Tue, 13 November 2012 at 3:52 AM
I mean a one click load of a hand made color map with displacement maps of cellulite and matching specular and bump maps of stretch and surface texture. All designed to produce a common effect.
My words are cheap..;)
Zev0 posted Tue, 13 November 2012 at 4:01 AM
Oh I can do that, but I like giving people choice to choose what they want applied. I'll make sure to include a "load everything Button":) along with the individual loading buttons:) The problem with loading all at once is that it might not look the same on another texture set of a different skin tone. But I'll try to find a common ground:)

Just installed and looking good
The virtual .pz2s going into the Material section of the library had me momentarily confused due to me being too eager to read the readme
But of course there is no technical issue with doing this... since BB (as I understand it) has made the Poser Library file-type agnostic across the sections.
Out of interest though, what was the reason for giving these the .pz2 and not an .mc5 file extension? Is this better for backwards compatibility?
