continues my installment of the GhostRecon character I am creating. You always "gots to have" a M4 when you need one!

Very nice. I want to see it fully textured....

VERY nice modeling!!!!!! whats the poly count ?
DarkEdge posted Mon, 01 October 2012 at 6:50 AM
Thanks for the comments. If it looks good now Rokket it will only get better with textures. Believe it or not I trimmed polys where I could but kept to quads as they count as a poly just as much as a tri, and I just think they render better for hard edged stuffed. Count is 11,000 but it was needed (imo) as this can be one of the central elements of a scene.

Nice piece of kit. I could do with one - real one - for Christmas. I could put it to good use. :)

heh, I live in California (usa) so coming anywhere, remotely close to a firearm...well, just might as well go to Arizona and pick it up.

i just googled 'gunstores, california, usa' and got quite a few pages of hits??
afaik, full auto is still illegal to own in the USA ( unless you are a dealer , of course), but many semi-auto versions of military weapons are easily available.

I'm currently liking the G3KA4 Assault Rifle. It has a nice rate of fire and a scope for sniper shooting. This is in Tom Clancey's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 btw 0.0;
Very nice modeling DarkEdge, the last time I tried to model a gun it looked sorta' like the one Dillinger carved out of a bar of soap in jail. T.T

A gun is the one thing I have never tried. And with DarkEdge around, I don't really need to. I haven't been doing any modelling long enough. I get lucky a lot, though...

Tell me that's not a single mesh! I wish I could get anything close to that in my modelling attempts. I will keep plugging at it. I've got to sit down and learn Blender. Wings is nice, and since I need free, Blender can do so much more...

It is not a single mesh, but there's also no reason for it to be one...why work hard when you don't have to I say! Lazy is my middle name.

Dark Lazy Edge. Has a certain ring to it, no? :biggrin:
I tried a pistol last night. It was a simple (or so I thought) Baretta M9. I can take one apart in about 10 seconds blindfolded and reassemble it. There are only 4 separate pieces to it, not counting the trigger mechanism. But I'll be damned if I could model one. What I ended up with looked like a cross between the afoementioned bar of soap and the blaster from the original Battlestar Galactica. Not good. It's gone.
Keep up the good work, my friend.
