Well, I'm sure the onslaught will begin after this:

Remember how before I used to share things with you all, but then I'd get posts about copyright issues, yadda yadda yadda and the like?

Well, why is it today, as I'm looking through the Renderosity store, I come across items with REAL WORLD BUSINESS LOGOS AND TRADEMARKS? This is items that can be found in Nationale7's store, and also 2nd World store, such as their CANON camera.

The Nationale7 uses a REAL BEER COMPANY'S name and LOGO! Also uses a real PETROLIUM COMPANY'S NAME.  They also use real automative car names and LOGOS.

I think what I was doing was rather light when you think about it.  Tattoos and Band T-Shirts along with a stupid Trucking company logo is considered minor.

Hell, the Camera's logo is the same even on the main developer's website.  How's that for a kick in the butt when I see the gripe and trouble I received here?

Well, I got it off my chest.  You all can feel free to post your comments and/or apologies for what I found.  I'm sure that this is only a tip of the iceberg and there are many more products too.......:cursing:

Report the copyright violations to rendo, and watch how fast the products vanish.

People steal from othe rpeople all the time and get away with it. If this bothers you, why don't you alo just rob people like they do?

You can't ask for input from people and then just decide you don't like their opinions.

People told you that what you wanted to do was illegal. It still is.

If you want to do it though, go right ahead, no one is stopping you from breaking the law.

Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.

I think you just gotta realize if one of these big companies gets a wild hair and comes after you, they could put some serious financial hurt on you. So, I always figure why risk it?

Those products were discussed in another thread.

You are totally free to base your moral decisions in life on what other people have gotten away with. It's how criminals live.

And, no, I am certainly not going to apologize for giving you answers to your questions.

If failing to encourage you to engage in risky and/or potentially illegal behavior is "gripe and trouble" in your books, then you need to seriously re-think your world view because you are not welcome to my help or advice if that's how you respond to it.

I have nothing more to say to you, and I will definitely stay out of your threads from now on.

difference being that you posted your 'projects' in the public forum and asked for opinions.

as Garee said, you want to break the law?  fine, go ahead. just don't post it in the public forum , ask opinions, then get shitty if folks warn you that you might get into strife................

John, I like you. I really do. But seeing this stuff in the forums from you so much does get old. Please, do me a favor and try to let these folks who have been doing this a lot longer than we have help you, and stop being bull-headed about it. You would get a lot further if you did.

Posting stuff like this only stirs up a hornet's nest. And I think you know it does. I hope you aren't getting some sick satisfaction out of it. That would be a shame. I think you are better than that. So prove it.

If I had a nickle for ever time a woman told me to get lost, I could buy Manhattan.

It's a grey area of law, as trademarks are a different sort of IP.  If you want to be a precedent, and can get EFF or someone to cover any legal bills, be my guest.  I'd play it safe, myself...
