Hello Ester, nice pose my dear.

For the eyelashes?

IF, and I say IF, you modify the area around the eyes, there is a dial to hide the geometry lashes and bring back te old texture mapped lashes that are faceroom compliant.

But this is only required IF you touch the area around the eyes.

I like that hair. Wish I could spend some money. I don't think I could create that. At least not this year...

I got the above with the hsv node and the hideout morphs.  using SM face dials, it no longer looks japanese AFAICT.  the giant hands have got a size dial, but it seems to only shrink the palm area, whilst the fingers stay the same length.  the part I like about teyon's skin shader is that it does what bill was talking about svl months ago - both direct and indirect specular.

Rokket, do you not have mitsu hair?

No, just have the hair that came with Miki4, Ishida and Noriko hair.

mitsu hair is an old anime style hair that I thought everybody had because it is used in so many promos and other renders.

Yeah, but I can't buy it. Not for awhile anyhow. I am still trying to convnice my wife to let me spend money. The problem is, she sees the stuff I am creating and asks me why I can't just make the things I want.

Can't argue with that, except to say that I am not good enough to do that.... yet.

estherau posted Wed, 10 October 2012 at 7:44 PM

you are good enough but you would spend all your time making and there would be no renders and no comic.

Is there any capacity for you to do extra shifts at work.  If you do extra ones she could give you a portion of that money which would build up quite quickly and that would encourage you to work more.

No. I don't own DAZ, and I have never been to their site. I mainly just go to this site, and to SM when they are updating or giving away stuff like Miki4. I don't know if I want to go poking around over there.

Actually, I had an older version of it, which came out about the same time as Poser 8, but I didn't like the interface so I deleted it.

Pretty sure Mitsu Hair is free with Aiko 3 and the stinger space cruiser and an anime style SF bodysuit for A3... yep, here's the link... http://www.daz3d.com/shop/free-3d-models-and-content/anime-star-fighter/

Whatever people may think of Daz, they have alot of nice stuff over there... they are generally more expensive than renderosity though. You should create an account just to download these really lovely freebies, rokket.

Awesome, I must have just blanked that freebie Anime Starfighter bundle out when I browsed their free stuff before...

Intriguing. I will look into this tonight...

It turns out I did have an account there, which I apparently created so I could download Hexigon. Funny, I deleted that too because it was too hard for me to use. So I did download the freebies and now I have Mitsu hair, and I am liking it a lot.

I'd recommend looking at Hexagon again too at some point... once I actually got the hang of it, I ended up really liking it as a modeller. It's certainly well worth the current price 😉

I really got used to Wings3D, and I am trying to wrap my head around Blender, so adding a third modeller right now would probably blow a fuse in my head... lol!

I will give it some more thought later on. I really didn't like the interface too much, and I couldn't get it to do what I wanted, so I got rid of it.

Blender is on the chopping block too, but I just can't seem to make myself uninstall it. I guess I am not giving up hope that I can make it work.

monkeycloud posted Sat, 13 October 2012 at 3:38 AM

There's definitely a lot more in Blender. I havent yet managed to find the time to take on that learning curve myself though! I routinely update my copy time to time and and have a quick play to see if it has become any more intuitive... or if I'll suddenly, magically just get it! He he.

My experience of Wings sounds comparable to yours of Hexagon I think... I have it installed, but, because I was already progressing in a couple of modellers, Shade3d and Hexagon, I couldn't yet find the motivation to learn how to use it, tbh.

toastie posted Sat, 13 October 2012 at 6:13 AM

I used Hexagon for a while, got it on some sort of offer before Daz was giving it away free and it wasn't worth whatever it was I paid for it. I moved to using Blender last year which is far better and not difficult to learn if you take the time to work through a few tutorials.

The problem I have with the Blender tutorials that I have found is that they don't go enough in depth with what they are doing for me to really catch on.

Plus until they change the interface and do away with all those blasted hot keys, I am never going to be able to use it.

Hello!

You can use this morph in Miki 4 and she will look very nice. Since this morph is for Miki 3, you will have to hide the extra eyelashes from Miki 4.

All the morphs must be at 0 before apply this morph! Dont' forget to hide the extra eyelashes!
