Just started using Tyler and got to say I'm hugely impressed!

Also really impressed to see he has a proper foreskin. Problem I'm having with this though - the foreskin only seems to fit properly when all the other morphs are set to zero. If I use the "flaccid" morph, then his foreskin gets left behind and deforms, which doesn't seem quite right!

Have I missed something somewhere with this?

 

No, I found the same problem.

I think it has to do with the the way Poser genitals work, rather than anything Blackhearted did. There reasons why Daz figures were so popular. This is one of them.

Well, for the little I played with Tyler and... his... addon... :rolleyes:

Tyler's don't look too bad at all and the foreskin morph isn't bad.... provided his dick is sticking out at right angles....

I thought maybe I'd missed something in the morphs that would fix it, but maybe not.

Is there a readme file that comes with Tyler? And if so - anyone know where the installer might've dumped it?

 

 

 

There's a user's guide. The installer dumps it outside the runtime of the folder you where you installed Tyler.

I had noticed it long ago with the Ryan bits.  It moves via morphs, when it really needs... dare I say... a few bones...

Never used Ryan before so this was my first encounter with the problem.

Hmm. Ok, so it's not something specific to Tyler and it's not me missing something obvious. So is there anyway to improve on this at all? Seems a bit of a shame that he actually has a foreskin but there's no way to use it in a render :(

 

You can use the foreskin morph, but only in one position.

I havent touched his genitals (no pun intended), other than to fit the base to Tyler's pelvis.  They already had a wide range of morphs, and as stated some did not interact well with each other unless the flaccid morph was zeroed.

To 'fix' them all morphs would have had to have been stripped out and redone from scratch on a new 'base morph' - at which point I may as well just have remodeled the genitals entirely -- and this was beyond the scope of the project.

Sorry guys... but please understand that Tyler is an elaborate tweak of Ryan 2, and not an entirely new generation of figure.  I chose to devote most of my time to other areas of the figure.

It does create an opportunity for someone to make a Tyler Penor product, however.

Hehe! Actually I was fairly worried I'd done him a serious physical injury when I dialled in the foreskin and flacid morphs together..... Ouch! That was not pretty!

Ah well. If it doesn't work then it doesn't work. Like I said, I'd never loaded up Ryan before so I didn't know it was a problem. (I can't imagine what something was thinking when they originally set the genitals up like that though. Weirdness).

The rest of Tyler's looking pretty good so far though :)

 

I have to admit that without the great rework on Ryan by Blackhearted, in a year I've never loaded him, so far.

Is there somewhere you can put in requests to SM? I want to ask for a working foreskin for Ryan/Tyler.

There are  some free male gens, even way better than Ryan/Tyler one, Ulf Gen, Adz Gen this last one maybe the one  with more options.

im not sure what Renderosity's current marketplace regs are but im willing to bet that if it is presented tastefully as an anatomically correct addition instead of '550 DIFFERENT ERECTIONS AND PENIS-TENTACLE FOR TYLER' then itll be allowed in the MP.

its an entire product unto itself.  id do it myself but im super busy and its really just not my thing -- TBH i am only really concerned with surface geometry.  this is why my GND figures all have external genitalia, but theyre not 'morphing' or mimic-capable. Tyler's penis looks OK, and it works more or less, which is why I left it as is and chose to focus on other areas like the JCMs.

but its actually not a bad idea for an enterprising merchant to make an addon. in fact why limit it to Tyler: you could make a penor that has morphs on its base to adapt to all the male figures. hell, make it fit V4 and Alyson too (i am not joking - you KNOW some people will use it, it takes 5 min to fit to a character, why the hell not?).

Um... well, all good ideas certainly, but actually I'd just be happy if the foreskin morph that comes with the original figure worked properly.

But I do have the free gens that Adzan made if I ever find that Tyler needs something special for frightening cats and old ladies.... ;)

One of the add on packages, maybe Satanica's, does have a V4 and some other fits included. There's a free horse organ out there somewhere if you really want to build the boy's ego up :-)

Strideri has a rather formidable Poser Penor fig that fits just about any male or female character there is.

The Poser Penor mine of opportunity has been thoroughly delved I'm afraid... Not that penors are my particular Poser penchant, I just happen to have a fascination for tentacles and the absurd. Nipple bones fer instance, and yes, Renderosity has a V4 rigged with nipple bones. See Kawecki's store... (from product editorial)-
