Hi
I am new to 3d artwork/modeling now about 2 weeks. I have Daz 4.5. I just got the Prime account here at Renderosity. I see the majority of items in the Prime category are for 'Poser' or 'Theme Poser'. I understand Poser is a similar program like Daz. My questions are: Does no one create props for Daz? Can all Poser items work in Daz? Why does it say Poser sometimes but sometimes it says Themed? Thank you for any guidance.

Well ... first DAZ is not a software but a company .. DazStudio is the software ;}
Most things will work in poser and DS ..but be sure to read the read me file etc etc before buying
AND be sure to GET the DSON plugins at DAZ3D.com for free now..
And look in the DAZ store for Free items loads of things free ..
Why things are called poser themed i have no clue .. i think its something from the Prime club here...

Most all Poser items will work in DAZ4.5, the only items that will not are the "DYNAMIC" or anything that calls for the "Clothing room" Older Poser (pre 7) may not work as you would like. If it says "Will NOT work in daz" then stay away from it, if it says "Not tested in DAZ" then there is a good chance it will work in DAZ4.5. Good Luck and welcome to the 3d Art

DZ, first off, welcome. the first thing you should do is create a seperate folder (runtime) to install your poser items, will make it easier to keep track of since the file path is different from the default path that native DS files have. Once you have all your poser files installed into the seperate runtime folder, you can add that folder to the DS preferences and then you will have seperate areas to find both your DS files, and your poser files.
Most poser items will work in DS, but keep in mind material settings are usually different between poser and DS textures, so some tweaking may be needed, no biggie. As mentioned, dynamic poser items will not work in DS and vice versa, two different ways of doing it in each program. I am not familiar with the themed items, but I believe it just has to do with the nature of the set.
As for the DSON plugin mentioned, unless you ever plan to get the latest poser, you don't need it. What it does is allow the native DS4.5 genesis figure to work in the latest poser app.
Regards, Michael
