Don't have Genesis and don't have the dson, but here's a couple of thoughts. If the Genesis figure requires Poser's dynamic subdivision to look right, then you'll need to go in the the "object properties" window in Vue, turn on and adjust Vue's dynamic subdivison from there...but expect it will really slow down your render speed.
The other thing you might do is use Dimension3D's free CR2toPROP script to convert the genesis figure into a prop before importing into Vue...don't know, it might help.

I have heard importing as .OBJ will work but I has hoping for someway just to make that cage invsible in vue.

If it shows as a material, why not try an invisable material with no shadows?
Just a guess...

If the cage isn't visible in Poser it's either an individual part or an transparent material. If it's an individual part, set it to "invisible" then use the CR2toProp script to convert it into a prop...invisible parts get deleted when that happens. If it's just a transparent material, then in Vue, split the object by material and delete the part you want.

the cage and the genesis figure share the material in vue ie if one is invisible the other will be and I cannot edit the object to split it off.
In poser there does not seem to be a way to even see the cage to decide if it is visible or not.

Hmm...Well, here's the link to the "figure2prop" script. I still suggest trying it then importing into Vue and see what happens...

Just check the box that says, "Delete Source Figure"

thanks smallspace but now I'm on vue 11 and my vue is crawling really slowly, too slow to work with, and if I try and import a genesis PZ3 then vue crashes.
