Hi everyone, I'm a photographer and also draw a lot for pleasure and I'm looking to use 3D human models for scene planning etc and for drawing practice. I am not intending to get into modelling myself, just content to purchase pre-made models to use.
I've been googling for days now and my head is starting to spin, I've worked out that Poser and Daz seem to be the biggest programs in this area in terms of support and content etc but in searching sites like this I am coming across terms which I do not understand and wondered if you could help with the following questions or point me towards some n00b orientated modelling dictionary/tutorials
Themed - What does this mean in the MarketPlace?
A4, G4, V4 - Are these base models to which skins/maps etc are applied?
Genesis - Found a few articles on this and it sounds good but I'm confused as to whether this is a Poser or Daz thing or does it work with both or is it a standalone program?
Morphs++ - No idea what this is?
Kids 4 - Is this a base model for children?
What does "Prime" mean?
Any help with the above would be greatly appreciated. Also, I realise that the choice of which program to use is a personal one and probably one that is hottly debated on these forums but any thoughts on which one of Poser or Daz is easier to pick up? (obviously as I'm not intending to make my own models I just want something I can run with as much as possible!)
Also can any Poser users out there explain in laymans terms what the difference between Poser 9 and Poser Pro is - I've read the comparison charts on thier website but to be honest I may as well have been reading sandscript as none of it made any sense to me!
Finally, having browsed through the MarketPlace, can I just say WOW!!!! There are some seriously tallented people on here, amazing modells!
