I have Kids 4 loaded, and loading in Pure Velvet Hair everything is fine. I then confirm the hair prop to K4's head, and then something crazy happens with the hair, wrapping around her face like this. I have applied the K4 morph that came with Pure Velvet hair, but it has no effect.

I'm using PP2012, 64-bit version. This is my first image in PO2012.

Anyone know what is happening with the hair, or how I might fix it?

For sure! She is looking more like Cousin It from the Addam's family, than the Alma-esque look I'm aiming for. Didn't have a chance to do anything else, before the hair decided "nope, not going to cooperate"

I'm not sure if it's a K4 issue, with hair or not, because this is the first time I've used the model. I tried the hair on V4 and it behaved itself when I confirmed it to V4's head...

Maybe it only works with Daz??

The product page says it works for both DAZ and Poser.

And if the hair doesn't work in Poser, then it shouldn't have worked when I conformed it to V4.

The hair looks normal when I load it; it's only when I try and conform it to K4's head that it goes berserk

Thanks!

If no one has any ideas in the thread, then I'll shoot off a message to the vendor.

There is a fit pose  for K4 in the MAT PureVelvetHair folder.  It looks like a scaling issue....

If it is a scaling problem, PP2012 has scaling fix in the properties panel for the hair.  Try activating that.  But, as WandW posted, if there is a fit pose available, you may need to inject that in first before conforming and spinning the dial.

For the K4 fit, you have to use the Prop hair, then use the Translate to position it on K4.

Here, I've used Style 07 after using translate to move the hair into position.  I also used the "Baby Fit" morph to get it a bit more round.

on edit:

Ooops, there IS a fit morph in the Pose folder for K4, but you have to use the Prop hair for it to work.

K4 fit using the UP fit in the Poses folder.

I feel quite foolish now. I didn't realise there was a second version of the hair included. I was using the V4 prop from the Figures folder, I didn't know there was another option under Hair that the K4 fix was designed for.

Thanks for everyone's help. I've got the hair okay now :D

Don't feel foolish, we've all done it a time or two.  :-)

That is comforting to know!

I am used to Hair props I have bought either being in the Figure folder, or under the Hair tab... I've never had a prop that came under both. I assumed, incorrectly as it turns out, that Pure Velvet with those morphs for the extra characters behaved like other Hairs I'm used to.

LOL, look at my first response to you - I did it all wrong.  :-)

It's really easy to miss the fact that the vendor included a Prop hair for a reason.

Absolutely!

But it's all sorted now, so I'm back to making my scene :D
