Subject: problem with Variable color settings( all trees go dark) HELP!!

i have created a forest and the trees,added variable scale and it worked fine, but when i went into the advance editor/color then check the variable color check box, added the gradient present(FIELDS) all my tress went black and the gradient is not even close to black . Does anyone know whats happening her? im using VUe 9.5 on a Mac pro Lion OSX 10.7

It's a bug that comes and goes.  Adjust the colors of the trees first.  Then do the scaling.

Variable colors needs a fucntion and a color map. If no function, only one color is applied. Also note that the varioation will be applied to leaves AND trunks, and the result might look odd. Don't use 100% of color variation.
