Hi Guys,
Here is a look at my next car coming very soon to the market place.
A 1954 Chevy Bel Air.
It has a simple interior and a bunch of options.
Not sure this one calls for a striped paint job.
The color combination is as seen here.
The bonnet can be a different color.
Hope you like it.

And one more view.
Shows the back end in this one.

Made my day!
Not sure if I will do a 57.
Will think about it.
But first I have about 12 cars to finish.
Then some city block sets. Low poly ones and maybe even a full blown one.
Tom
To stripe, or not to stripe, that is the question...
Yes ____
No_____

That was my question too. Where it was rendered. Is that level even possible in P9? Looks really good.

Attached Link: Car Patio
Well guys the first thing about a realistic render is a real background. Got the image from Flicker. It is called an Equirectangular image. goes on the skydome. The next thing to do to get the realizm is to buy my car patio. Ted is a genious with materials and those are his puddles on the patio. Looks like real puddles...
The patio is only $9.95.
Comes with a few props as well, such as a camera and some lighting props as well as a cord that is controllable, a couple light poles and a couple benches, and a carrying case for lighting equipment.
Here is a link to the product.
Next I used the Firefly render engine with the settings you see here.
Then the last thing you need is to model a really awesome ride. :-)
Seriously the last thing is one infinite light for some shadows set to about 150 -500 on intensity, depending on the background image. Try to aim the light as if it coming from the sun, so the shadows look right.
Not really hard.
You need to play with the settings untill you get it where you want it.
Thats it.

No Stripes
I think they look out of place on this car...

You're getting very close to getting some of my hard earned, (Well, long ago) money, ya know. Can that hood scoop and the visor be removed?

Yes they are options that can be hidden.
Sorry about your loss. :-)

Okay, ya win that one, but not without waiting until my CC bill comes in and I pay it down sometime after the fifteenth. (My inner child has had a ball at X-heli.com. Now he finds out how he likes paying it.) I think I'm over $600, which may somewhat bring tears to my eyes when I get the bill.

Ha ha! You're putting these out now faster than I can install them never mind render them, Tom ;-)
But nonetheless, keep it up... 12 more you say? Jolly good...

I really need more quality 30s, 40s and 50s period clothing though, especially now...
...I know that's not your thing. I don't think anyway?
But surely your putting out all these period vehicles will encourage some more clothing vendors to venture along those lines...?

Tom, very awesome renders. I've tried your render settings and they work great. Would you mind posting an image of your light settings?
And the '54 Chevy looks awesome as well.
Thanks.

Just one light set to infinite, for shadows and some depth in the contrast.

Quote - Here is the Bel Air with the stripes.
I was wondering if the Chevy could be used without the portholes on the side of the fender and witout the hood scoop....now I know.
Thanks.

If people have not noticed yet, I like making a lot of options. :-)
To the point of being able to move the antenna to the other side of the car or front to back end of the car as well as being able to tip the antenna on an angle like was done on some cars in the past. :-)
Many more uses that way.
Could be back in the day or
a scene that is set in today's timeline with modifications to the vintage car.
Yes I have created a folder of stripes for this one.
Just for those who like stripes. Personally I think this car looks better without, but tht is just my taste. :-)

I've notice that with the addons on the other cars. And, I like the '54 Chevy without the stripes also.
Oh, you are using the skydome from 81 City Blcoks, aren't you?
DreamlandModels posted Sat, 08 December 2012 at 6:27 PM
In the smaller images I am using Teds sky dome, as my sky dome is a lot bigger.
Either one will work it was just handy and it is already small. Both have the same effect.
