Hi people, just testing a new set of textures for Vic4 Bikini and got tose artifacts in the final render. I am not a good Poser user, so i am a little lost now. Take a look inside those red circles, the very dark blue lines dont exist in the texture, but show up in the render...

Um, the dark blue lines are the shadow inside the wrinkles/puckers in the fabric there at the ring. It's supposed to be there.

Either decrease shadow amount or increase shadow minimum bias. Or both. Or just change your lighting completely. Or use IDL.

It appears that Shadow Min Bias is set too high on your main light.  There is a lack of bikini shadowing where the material meets the skin.  Try a value of 0.1 for starters.

And just for more complete info, provide which Poser version used and present OS.  We can get a better accessment and recommend an accurate resolution.

Hi people, thansk for the answer so far. I am using Poser 2012 in Windows 8 Pro 64 bits.

Looks that the problem is related to the bump channel, when I increase it I get more artifacts.

This light set is an old GI rig, I will try more lights tomorrow, after fight with the bumps that is really different from others like Lightwave or Carrara.

Ah well, you got the bump self shadowing. Fiddle with shadow minimum bias. I think it has to go up, Superman thinks it has to go down. He's probably right, I'm only a beginner. No matter, try either. If it gets better, try more, if it gets worse, try the other direction.

You have demonstrated, once again, that in Poser neutral bump or displacement is not gray, it is black.

Subtract .5 from the bump map.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
