Howdy;

Another question for the experts:

Is there a way to get the same quality reflections that are obtained using BB Env sphere...but using the IDL sphere instead?...i personally cant think of any way...but then again...thats me...and i am by no means an expert on the matter.

As you can see on the image of the left...the reflective qualities are way better then on the right.

The challenge...to obtain the same quality reflections...but only using the IDL sphere.

Thanks.

Both objects are spheres with different shaders driving them.

The EnvSphere is about 225 meters in radius and the IDL sphere is about 20 meters radius.

If you want the same qualities, use the same shaders and same radius, or just use the EnvSphere.

Same shaders?...what shaders are those, where can i find them?...

Material room for each sphere.

The size of the sphere is not being so critical.  The mapping of each is about same, exception are at the extreme edges.

What makes difference is the shader driving the surface.

In picture, I have IDL sphere at default size and next at same size as BB EnvSphere.
The last one is IDL sphere with same image, only this time attached thru EnvSphere shader

In that case my question for Medzinatar is:

How do you attach the Env sphere shader to the IDL sphere?...

What on earth is that supposed to mean?...

Simply load both spheres into your scene.  Select BB's sphere, enter the material room, right click on any open area in the workspace to open the pull down menu, select all.  Again right click on any of the selected nodes and this time select copy.

Select the IDL sphere, Mat room, right click any open area, select paste.  BB's shaders transferred to a different sphere.
